FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OnlineLearning Provider Offers Course on Reversing Heart Disease T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell partner with top Ivy League faculty to offer new online course [ITHACA, NY] The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, in partnership with eCornell, is pleased to announce the release of a new online course, “Nutrition for a Healthy Heart.” The new course features lectures from Cornell University faculty, the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute, and the University of Rochester School of Medicine, as well as bestselling authors and researchers. “Most people know that heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the U.S. and other Western countries,” says Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus at Cornell University. “And most people know, more or less, that diet is a factor in causing heart disease, but only a few really know how profound is this effect or which foods might be problematic. It’s time to highlight scientific evidence that demonstrates how heart disease can be prevented and, even more dramatically, how people can be treated to reverse this disease.” The twoweek course is designed to be readily accessible to the public without scientific or medical training, while offering new research for a variety of health professionals. Topics range from contemporary heart disease research and medical practices to stocking a kitchen with hearthealthy foods. Like the Center’s bestselling Certificate in PlantBased Nutrition, the heart course plans to offer continuing education credits for a variety of health disciplines. eCornell’s unique approach to online learning combines cuttingedge technologies with Ivy League thought leadership in an engaging, collaborative online learning environment. eCornell’s online courses are selfpaced, instructorfacilitated, and focus on realworld objectives. eCornell has delivered online courses to more than 50,000 students in more than 200 countries. “Collaborating with the Center for Nutrition Studies furthers our commitment to maximizing the opportunity for anyone, anywhere to receive impactful content directly from Cornell University,” says Chad Oliveiri, eCornell’s Vice President of Content and Partnerships. “It’s not at all a stretch to say the content we’re building with the Center is truly lifechanging.” The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, formerly known as the T. Colin Campbell Foundation, is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Ithaca, NY. Their mission is to promote optimal nutrition through sciencebased education, advocacy, and research.
