Each student is responsible to keep track of the title of books and number of pages read. Use the attached reading form. Students reading from the TSCS recommended book list will earn greater merit than the personal choice book list. Your completed reading form needs to be turned into the office, Thursday, August 22, the third day of school. This program is on the honor system and information will be available on our website: www.tscs.org.
We encourage all students to read the Bible regularly. On the recommended reading list you will find a list of age appropriate Bibles.
Please specify which version of the Bible was read on the reading form.
Bible reading will receive greater merit than books of personal choice or books from the recommended reading list.
Again this year we have included on the recommended reading list suggestions for books that could be used for family devotions and spiritual training in the home. Many of these books are geared for use with young children, (approximately age ten and below). Reading from these books, either together out loud or individually, may be counted by all children in the family toward their summer reading goal regardless of grade level.
 4K –1 st : Students entering 4K – 1 st grade may be read to by a parent or older child. Each student reading over 2000 pages will earn an award. The highest reader over 2000 pages will receive a special award.
 2 nd -3 rd Grade: each student reading over 2500 pages will earn an award. The highest reader over 2500 pages will receive a special reward.
 4 th -6 th Grade: each student reading over 4000 pages will earn an award. The highest reader over 4000 pages will receive a special reward.
 7 th -12 th Grade: each student reading over 5000 pages will earn an award.
The highest reader over 5000 pages will receive a special reward.
 TSCS All School Top reader will need to read a minimum of 10, 000 pages.

Early Grades (4K-3 rd )
An adult or older child may read to children entering 4K, Kindergarten or first grade.
Children entering grades two and up need to read on their own for pages to be counted toward their summer reading goal.
