A handout* describing the pros and cons of Program Tracking was distributed to PPC members and will be sent out to the IG/Comm Chairs list as an FYI (*prepared by Gail after her attendance at the fall meeting of ALA Conference Program and Coordinating Team) Review of Annual 2008 pre-conferences and programs addressed changes and updates for the following: (1) technical and logistical support for DataGrid and Drupal pre-conferences and need to coordinate with UTA office; (2) IRSIG Ulitmate Debate (revised title and description); (3) BIGWIG Showcase (logistical/technical support questions referred to UTA office) ; (4) OSSIG Legal Issues (revised title and description; moved to new day/time) ; (5) HoLT IT program (revised title and description; (6) Imagineering (revised title and description and speakers) ; Authority Control (revised title and description; extended length of program); (7) Emerging Technology (program cancelled due to inability to secure speakers; PPC suggested running a Managed Discussion instead) ; Legislation and Regulation (revised title and description; added co-sponsorship by UTA Technology and Access Committee) ; (8) JPEG2000 (revised description) ; Pub Lib Tech (Revised title, description and audience size increased to 150); Digital Library Tech (revised title and description) ; International Relations (Brainstorming ideas for programming on "one laptop - one child" concept for Annual 2009) FUTURE ACTIVITIES: Continue working with program planners and UTA office to ensure Annual programs stay on track; stay in touch with ALA Conference Services re: the progress of the online proposal submission system.
