are they, what information is provided in these areas ect. Write a guide that will help you to
use this book.

b. Table 1 c. Soil Series – Pick one and write a brief description of the series
d. Table 2 – Soil Description – Choose a soil within the series you choose in c and tell
a few important facts about this soil. Include the soil map symbol.

IV. Western Stanislaus County Soil Map
Look through this new Soil Map Material and become acquainted with its organization.
How are the maps organized (Please put all maps back in the kit you removed them from
and in their proper order), where is the information located?

1. Look up a soil series of one of the following: Capay, Columbia, El Solyo,
Franciscan, Henneke, Stomar, Vernalis or Zacharis. Then record its surface
texture and it’s A and first B horizons information, only summarize high points
do not record all of the information.
n. Now take that same soil series and select one type within it and list its Storie Index
rating and the scores for each criteria and if X is used then list why. Table 9
