Dear students,
It’s holiday time once again! We want you to enjoy your vacation so that you come
back to the school refreshed and rejuvenated. At the same time we want you to remain
in touch with your studies. For this we have designed an interesting and enriching
Holiday Homework.
Here’s your chance to be truly creative – let your thoughts run a race with your pen –
and just write, write, write!
1 Read the lessons given in your syllabus. You may choose thematic content of
any two lessons and write on them as you please – in the form of an Article,
Speech or Debate. For instance you choose ‘The Lost Spring’. You can express
your views on ‘Child Labour’.(Writing Section File)
2 Design Posters on any two social issues to create awareness amongst general
masses.
3 Collect Five Classified and Five Display Advertisements from Newspapers and
paste in your Files for Writing Section.
4. Compile a Question Bank with at least 10 specimen questions
from each of the lessons done so far. ( In your Literature Notebook). You can go
through sample papers and also browse different sites on net for the same.
5. Read the poems ‘My Mother at Sixty Six’ and ‘Keeping Quiet’.
Write the thematic content of both the poems. Also write
your interpretations of the poems.
. 6. Reading is a discount ticket to everywhere. Reading is to the mind, what
exercise is to the body.
Keeping this in mind CBSE has introduced a Long Reading Text Section in the
Board Examination. The novel ‘The Invisible Man’ has been introduced for you students
to develop a habit of reading and enhance your reasoning skills. So pick up the novel
and read it thoroughly with proper understanding of the plot, characters, summary and
the theme of the novel.
If you also had the power to be Invisible for one day enlist the things you
would have done . Give the title “If I were Invisible for a Day…………”(Literature
Note Book)
