FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
— Star-studded concert features performances by Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas and John Legend, all using Audio-
Technica’s acclaimed Artist Elite® 5000 Series UHF Wireless System —
STOW, OH, April 18, 2005
— At the annual
VH1 Save The Music Concert , a host of musical greats turned out stellar performanc es in support of VH1’s Save The Music Foundation.
Audio-Technica microphones were omnipresent throughout this star-studded benefit concert, just as they were at the recent 47 th Annual GRAMMY® Awards and the 2005 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony . Staged at Manhattan’s legendary Beacon Theater, VH1’s Save
The Music Concert made use of AudioTechnica’s acclaimed Artist Elite® 5000 Series UHF
Wireless System on lead vocals for artists including Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas and John
Legend, and also employed A-T wireless and wired mics in numerous other applications. This year’s Save The Music Concert was held April 11, with VH1’s first airing of the broadcast
Sunday, April 17 at 9:00pm ET/PT.
A-T Artist Elite 5000 Series Wireless additionally facilitated presentations by Heidi Klum,
Gisele Bundchen, Christina Applegate and LL Cool J. The large selection of hardwired A-T microphones on hand included the AE2500 for bass guitar amps, ATM35 and AT4054 on

horns, AT4051a for hi-hat and ride cymbal, AT4054 on background vocals, and AE5100 for audience.
Audio Production Mixer Al Centrella, whose credits include A&E Live By Request and The
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame awards, chose a wide array of Audio-Technica microphones based on their stringent production values . “I started using Audio-Technica on Live By Request because most of the time the artist is in front of the PA and I need a natural-sounding mic with tremendous gain before feedback. That’s exactly what A-T delivers,” commented Centrella.
“Regardless of what event I am doing, Audio-Technica continues to provide natural, reliable performance show-aftershow.”
XM Productions/Effanel Music Lead Engineer Joel Singer concurs with Centrella’s criteria for microphone selection. “We continue to choose Audio-Technica based on our past experiences using them. For critical applications such as high-profile award shows and location recording, I know we can count on A-T mics to deliver the consistency and great sound quality that we need,” Singer remarked.
