Minutes from Meeting October 25, 2007 B ETA A LPHA P SI This was the last meeting of the semester unless needed. Be sure to keep up to date via e-mail. Please contact Keith1 if you are not on his mailing list or if you would like to change your e-mail address. One of the major topics at the meeting was about a social, and possibly gift exchange, at the end of the semester, but before finals. This would be a great opportunity for many members who are graduating to relax and reflect back on their journey through college. The new members could also learn what lies ahead and how cope with the upper-level accounting courses. Location and Time: Your feedback is needed! MEMBERSHIP DUES If you have not paid BAP dues, please do so immediately; it is $10 for current members. AGA STUDENT NIGHT Brooke Leblanc, a job coordinator with Career Services at LSU, provided valuable information about resume and cover letter essential and also discussed interview etiquette. She also explained how anyone can look at available jobs on their website. This was a limited opportunity, and would be a great experience. Another office tour may be planned next semester, depending on the circumstances. FUNDRAISERS The Christmas Toy Drive will soon begin. Please go by the Dean's office and pick up an ornament from the tree. The ornament will have an age of a child to buy for. Buy a present for that child, wrap it, and attach the ornament. Then bring the present back to the Dean's office and place it under the tree. This is a very easy way to earn community service hours; please take advantage of it and participate. (1 ornament = 1 service hour). NICHOLLS “N’S” This service project was a huge success, and earned a total of three-hundred and thirty-six dollars. Everyone’s service and contribution is greatly appreciated. This success would have not been possible without Keith’s innovative idea. Everyone loved Keith’s idea and the spirit it brought among the faculty, staff, and students. It will in an on-campus newsletter. The formation of a scholarship is in process and will be awarded to a Beta Alpha Psi member who demonstrates academic achievement, actively participates, and who represents what Beta Alpha Psi stands for. GRADUATION CORDS If you are graduating in December and want to purchase cords, you must contact Mrs. Guidry ASAP. The cost is twelve dollars.
