2. Dress Up!!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A
smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks..
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord
looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7
3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us
two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant
for us to do twice as much listening as talking.
"He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs
13:3
4. Stand Up!!
For what you believe in. Stand for something or you
will fall for anything..
"Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the
proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give
up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do
good..." Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up!!
To the Lord.
"I can do everything through Christ who
strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
6. Reach Up!!
For something higher.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not
unto your own understanding. In all your ways,
acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6
7. Lift Up!!...
Your Prayers.
"Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY
ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6
Prayer intentions of Pope Francis - July
General: Sports. That sports may always be occasions
of human fraternity and growth.
Mission: Lay Missionaries. That the Holy Spirit may
support the work of the laity who proclaim the Gospel
in the poorest countries.
Ode to the Rock of All Ages
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we
like to get old is when we're kids?
If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about
aging that you think in fractions.
"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!"
You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half,
going on five!
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back.
You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.
"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!"
You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16!
And then the greatest day of your life. You become 21.
Even the words sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME
21. YESSSS!!!
But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there?
Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to
throw him out. He is no fun now, you're just a sourdumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?
You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING
40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away.
Before you know it, you REACH 50
And your dreams are gone. But wait!!!
You MAKE it to 60. Like you thought you might not see
it.
So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50
and MAKE it to 60.
You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70!
After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!
You get into your 80's and every day is a complete
cycle; you HIT lunch; you REACH bedtime.
And it doesn't end there. Into the 90's, you start going
backwards;
"I Was JUST 92."Then a strange thing happens.
If you make it past 100, you become a little kid again.
"I'm 100 and a half!"
May you make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!
Happy Birthday to Therese Ciummo who became
97 on Thursday. I believe that she is the oldest
living member of St. Vincent de Paul.
