They fast to get closer to God. They don't let his holy book get damaged. Each and everything they do as something to do with God. Islam is to be thinking about God all day. Explain in detail what led you to choose this one thing. Monotheism. A universal thing is they're all monotheistic. I picked it because all the talk about God makes it jump out. The first commandment "I am the lord your god, there is no god but me" is similar to the shahadah. Also I heard that its the same god as Abraham and Moses. God and his prophets. Across all 3 religions there is one God and (at least) one prophet. God & Muhammad, God & Jesus, God & Moses, Abraham and Isaac. But, the point is they are all connected through this one God and many prophets. Prayer. All of the religions we've studied there's been some type of prayer to god, whether it's asking for forgiveness, thanking god, or anything else. In Islam you have salat, the 5 daily prayers and the mosque. Judaism you have many objects used for prayer and a temple for prayer. In Christianity you also have items for prayer and a church.
