CWS Kit Program
Please read carefully the list of items in each kit and include only the items requested and as specified.
The makeup of each kit is a result of conversations with our partners, both overseas and here in the U.S. In an
effort to meet the needs of local agencies in very diverse settings and cultures, the CWS Emergency
Response Program works to keep the kits as useful as possible to the needs of the recipients.
Once a year, the CWS truck stops in our region to pick up kits and deliver them to the CWS distribution center
in New Windsor, Maryland.
If you cannot drop off your kits at the designated time, please call the contact site to make other arrangements.
Box them, please!
Please box your kits before taking them to one of the drop-off sites. The truck will not accept kits in paper
or plastic bags and the volunteers at the churches do not have extra boxes available to pack your kits.
Funds for Processing/Shipping and Purchasing Kits
Funds are needed to cover sorting, packing, and insurance, as well as shipping Kits to their final
destination. Please, if you can, give at least $2 for each School, Hygiene, or Baby Kit you send, and $3 for
each Emergency Clean-up Bucket. Monetary donations in lieu of assembled Kits also helps us to provide
much-needed supplies.
Do not put shipping fees inside the kits. When you drop off your kits you will receive a receipt and an
envelope to send your shipping fees directly to Church World Service. Please do not leave money at the dropoff site. Please provide funds in the form of a check or money order.
Checks (no cash please) should be payable to Church World Service.
