COURSE OBJECTIVES
Accounting is a vocational course designed to give basic skills in
double-entry accounting.
Students are taught to prepare, interpret, and analyze business papers, records, reports, and transactions as
aids to management. Simulations are used to emulate, as much as possible, real business activities.
Lab fees required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





Office environment—come in quietly, be in seat ready to work when the bell rings.
No food, beverages, or gum in classroom.
Workstation must be left neat (chair under desk, no trash on or around desk).
No grooming in class.
Attitude—attentive, cheerful, pleasant, courteous, cooperative, respectful of self and others.
o Missed Assignments—Should you miss class, it is YOUR responsibility to obtain missed
assignments from me. KHS policy states that you have three school days to turn in missed work
once you return to school. Failure to meet this deadline will result in a grade of “0” for missing
assignments.
HALL PASSES
Three passes per nine weeks, no more, no exceptions.
MAKEUP/ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE
After school by at a mutually agreeable time.
FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA (FBLA)
FBLA is a club open to all business students. The club sponsors a fund-raiser each year with the proceeds
being used for community projects. Members may also attend regional, state, and national meetings. At
the Spring regional meeting students compete in business events, campaign for regional leadership
positions and vote for their FBLA regional leaders. Similar activities are held at the state and national
meetings held later in the year. Dues are $9.00 per year. All business students are encouraged to join
FBLA.
