Notes:
Hourly rate calculated at annual rate / 365 * 7 / 37 hours (total weeks per year = 365 days / 7)
Calculating Salary for School Based Employees
Salary and allowances are paid pro rata to school based employees, where the full time hours are
32.5 per week in the Teaching Assistant Job Family, 37 hours per week for all other staff, and the
number of weeks paid are calculated by adding together the actual weeks worked during term times
and the number of weeks annual leave to which an individual is entitled. Annual Leave entitlement
increases with length of service, therefore the ‘Weeks Worked + Annual Leave’ element of the
equation increases in accordance with the Council’s long service leave arrangements.
The formulae for Employees working 38 weeks per year
1.
Less than 5 years’ Local Government Service
52 Week Salary X Hours Worked per Week X 43.14 (Weeks Worked + Annual Leave)
(full time hours)
52
