ABC EQUITATION: Ages for equitation classes G1007 2 a,b,c, 2.a) Individuals are juniors until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 18. a)Junior A: A rider who is 15,16 ,17 on January 1st 2012 b)Junior B : A rider who is 12,13,14 on January 1st. c)Junior C : A rider who is under 12 January 1st. HUNT SEAT EQUITATION DIVISION- FLAT: Class 1-6, Juniors may show ponies G1001-G1009. Riders to be judged on equitation HACK DIVISION: No breastplates, whips, martingales, flash or drop nosebands, boots or bandages of any kind. Classes 7-11: Shown at flat footed walk, normal trot, easy canter; not to light contact with horse's mouth; judged on manners, performance, conformation. Classes 14-21, G1402 restricted - no saddlesuits, no kentucky jodhpurs, and no saddle seat tack. Shown on light to medium contact at walk, normal & strong trot, canter & controlled hand gallop. Shown both ways of the ring on light to medium contact at collected, regular and extended gaits (walk, trot, and canter) & controlled hand gallop. G1301 HUNTER DIVISION: Miscellaneous, not rated for EC awards. Open to seniors riding horses or large ponies and juniors riding horses or ponies. A pony shown by an adult must not be shown by a junior at the same competition. Juniors of any age may show any height of pony in miscellaneous, non point classes. Article G306 2 & 3. HUNTER DIVISIONS: Hunter Under Saddle classes must complete course in one O/F class in respective division. Shown at walk, trot, canter, both ways of ring on light contact may be asked to hand gallop. Distances will not be adjusted for ponies. G201,G202, G316 CROSS RAIL DIVISION: Classes 22, 23 & 26. Course to be posted. Shown at a trot or canter over a course of 810 cross rails. Emphasis will be placed on: 1/ horses ridden in a safe manner. 2/ a correct & effective path to & away from the fences. 3/ jumping style. INTRO HUNTER (Max 22 inches- 0.55m): Classes 24, 25 & 27. Course to be posted. Shown at canter over course of 8-10 verticals & small oxers no higher than 22”. Fences may be approached in either a trot or canter. Emphasis will be placed on: 1/ horses ridden in a safe, 2/ controlled manner, a correct & effective path to & away from the fences, 3/ jumping style. BEGINNER HUNTER (Max 2'6"- 0.75m): Classes 28, 29 & 34. . Course to be posted. Shown at canter over course of 8-10 fences. To be judged on obedience, form and general way of going. ANN MURRAY MEMORIAL HUNTER CLASSIC ( Max 2’6): Class 31. G313 Sponsored by Action Truck Caps & Accessories & Maritime Saddle & Tack Ltd. Open to horse and ponies. To be judged on performance, manners, way of going. Will be judged over 2 rounds with the top 8 in the first round coming back for the second round. 1st to 6th place will all receive an embroidered saddle pad & goodies. Shown at canter over a course of 810 fences. NOVICE DIVISION: A novice is a horse or rider that is in their 1st 2 years of showing. ON YOUR HONOR. Not eligible for Junior or Senior but can show in the open classes. JUMPER DIVISION : Class 36 & 37 .80 METER JUMPER WELCOME. IMMEDIATE JUMP OFFMiscellaneous class, not rated for Equine Canada awards. Open to horses & ponies. LEADLINE: to be lead by a senior handler appropriately dressed & on a suitable mount. Competitors must wear a properly fitted ASTM approved helmet. Leadline riders are exempted from EC Sport License requirements but may not enter any other classes. The owners of the horses competing only in this class are not required to have EC Sport Licenses. WALK/TROT: open to green horses or green riders of all ages, on suitable mounts. The show will be held August 5th, 2012 at Spring Brook Stables, home of Maritime Saddle & Tack. This show will be held rain or shine. For more information call Michelle Bourque at 372-4006. 2. Judge’s decision is final. 3. The Spring Brook Stables show committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. A805 4. Entry Fees $8.00 for all regular classes, $16.00 for stake classes. Divisions are $30 each & each division will be awarded a championship blanket. Entry Fees will not be refunded without a physician’s or veterinarian’s certificate (this refund will be 75% of class fees). Coolers will be presented for the following divisions: Junior & Senior English Performance Champion / Novice Champion / High Pt. Pony/ X-Rails /Intro Hunter / Beg. Hunter / Low Hunter. Horse & Riders must be present for presentations in full show attire or it will be considered a forfeit & will go to the next exhibitor. 5. Horses must be shown by the same exhibitor in all qualifying classes in order for points to count. The judge will break ties for Champion. 6. Show Committee may cancel classes with less than 3 entries. 7. All riders must wear a helmet with an attached harness while on your horse and on the grounds. These helmets must meet the standards of the American Society of Testing Materials and display the SEI seal. The ASTM and British BSI are also acceptable. While mounted, all riders must wear their ring number. Horses are to be ridden in the warm up ring ONLY, no trotting horses in the driveway. 8. Limited overnight stabling is available on the premises. Please call ahead for availability. Room is available for overnight tenting. If stabling in the barn PLEASE make sure to clean your stalls before leaving (stripping is not necessary) & keep your tack area clean & tidy throughout the day! Please sweep in front of your stall! Brooms are available in the barn, do not leave the stall area unswept while showing. If stabling in the barn you will be asked to pay a $5 fee with your entry. This fee will be refunded to you upon inspection of the stall and aisle prior to you departing the grounds. The barn and tack room is off limits to visitors. Please use the garbage containers provided on the grounds. 9. Stalls are rented to those traveling from out of town first & then will be available for local accommodations. We require that you be out of the stall by 6 pm to allow the next competitor in. Prices per day Box stall$45 or $80 for both nights 10. Canteen on site –open for breakfast & lunch, hamburgers, hot dogs, Kurt’s Sausages, chili, subs, salads, pop, tea, coffee, snacks, Brother’s bakery…YUMMY!! 11. It is MANDATORY that all horses have rabies, tetanus, influenza! (Strangles, Rhino and West Nile are optional but strongly suggested). Anyone stabling in the barn must be inoculated for strangles & Rhino, please provide a copy with your entry if stabling on the grounds. You must show proof with a veterinarian's certificate upon arrival at the show. You will be asked to leave if you do not have proof of shots! 12. Protests must be made in writing, signed and accompanied by a $100 deposit in cash within 48 hrs of completion of the class, Equine Canada Article A1206. 13. First Aid will be located in the show office tent incase of any emergencies. First Aid Tanya Steeves & Michelle Bourque. Emergency numbers will be posted in the barn & show office. 14. Anyone who shows any disrespect or misconduct towards horses and or others at the show will be asked to leave the grounds and will lose their entry fees. 15. All riders must have a NBEA membership and an EC Bronze license. Parents or guardians are permitted to sign their children’s entry forms without being EC members. However, the owner of the horse must hold a bronze license. Bronze memberships may be purchased online at www.equinecanada.ca .Your receipt will be proof of membership. Passports are not required at the Bronze level. Temporary memberships are no longer available. All competitors & owners are required to be NBEA members. Equine Canada Bronze License is NOT required for exhibitors competing only in leadline. Proof of membership (photocopy) must be included with the entry form or it will be considered an incomplete entry. 16. We MUST receive your paid entry form by July 29th, 2012. ANY LATE ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER MIDNIGHT July 29th, 2012 will pay a late entry fee of $30.00 per horse! THIS WILL BE STRONGLY ENFORCED! 17. Any horse in any class at a competition may, while on the competition grounds may be selected for equine drug medication control testing. There is a requirement to pay a drug testing fee of $3.50 per horse. The person responsible is accountable for the care, training, custody and the performance of the horse. This may be the trainer, owner, rider, driver, agent or coach. The person responsible must be an adult and must have an EC license, with the exception of a Junior Exhibitor’s parent or guardian. (A203.5, A214.2) 18. The announcer’s opinions are not necessarily the opinions of the Judges or the Spring Brook Stables show organizers. As item 2 states, the Judge’s decision is final. Any incident requiring a ruling which cannot be referenced to the EC Rule Book, will be rendered by the show committee. 19. For safety reasons, there will be no spectators or coaches allowed at the in/out gate of the arena. No Lunging in the warm up ring. 20. Class entries will close 3 classes before that class begins. There will be no exceptions. 21. There must be a separate entry form for each horse/rider combination. NO EXCEPTIONS. 22. ANY CHEQUES POST DATED WILL BE CONSIDERED A LATE ENTRY. 23.
