Future Medicine Ltd., part of Future Science Group, has announced that its new journal Diabetes
Management, launched in January 2011, has been selected for coverage by Chemical Abstracts.
Chemical Abstracts, a division of the American Chemical Society, is an authoritative and
comprehensive source for chemical information.

TechTarget to acquire Computer Weekly from Reed Business Information
Technology media company TechTarget, Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire the websites,
product offerings, and events associated with Computer Weekly and its sister channel-targeted

Just a fraction of Twitter users attract significant attention, says Yahoo study
Yahoo! Research has released a study on Twitter usage across the world. According to the study,

RSC welcomes report on a low carbon nuclear future
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has welcomed the publication of the Smith School of
Enterprise and the Environment report 'A low carbon nuclear future: Economic assessment of

Free access does not ensure more citations, says FASEB Journal report
A paper in the FASEB Journal shows that free access to scientific journal articles leads to increases
in downloads, but not increased citations. The study, by Philip M. Davis from Cornell University, is
expected to help scientists make decisions about where they publish their work.

Elsevier provides free access to online clinical reference tools for Japan earthquake relief
efforts
STM publisher Elsevier has announced that the company is providing free access to its primary
online clinical reference tools - MD Consult and First Consult - to all IPs originating from Japan. Free
access will be available through April, 2011.

The Helmholtz Association and the New Journal of Physics (NJP) have signed a funding agreement to
cover article publication charges for all authors affiliated to any of the Helmholtz Research Centres

WK Health offers free access to medical resources for disaster relief efforts in Japan

based on the Nature Publishing Index, a measure of the output of articles in Nature journals.

Asia Pacific dominates chemistry research output, says Thomson Reuters analysis
Information services provider Thomson Reuters has released an analysis, according to which the Asia
Pacific region has become the dominant producer of research papers in chemistry. The region
contributed about 43 percent of research papers published in the internationally influential journals
indexed by Thomson Reuters.
