LA11111 Introduction of the study of law
This course consists of two parts:
A. The general theory of law which deals with the concept of law, the origin of law, the
characteristics of legal rules, the various classifications of legal rules, the sources of legal
rules, interpretation of the law, and the scope of its application.
B. The general theory of right which involves a study of the types of right, the parties involved
the sources of right, and the protection of right.
LA12151 Principles of Public International law (1)
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the nature and substance of international
law, its divisions and sources, and the basis of its obligatory force. The course also aims at
acquainting students with the nature of the international legal responsibility.
LA11121 An Introduction to Islamic Jurisprudence
the course involves a study of the basic principles of Islamic jurisprudence such as the
meaning of jurisprudence, the stage of its development, the meaning and the difference
between the most important terms of jurisprudence such as: Islamic legislation, religion,
analogy… etc. The course also deals with the scope of jurisprudence, its divisions
and its codification. It also involves a brief study of the following theories: ownership,
contracts, validity and invalidity, capacity and guardianship.

General Principles of Criminal Law (1)
This course involves definition of criminal law, a study of its purposes, contents and branches;
it also comprises detailed study of the general theory of crime which includes, studying types
of crime as well as the elements of crime. (The legal element, the material element, and the
moral element).
LA11213 Civil Law (Sources of Obligation)
This course involves a study of voluntary sources of obligation (contract and unilateral
deposition) and involuntary sources of obligation (the injurious act, the beneficial act and the
law).
LA11214 Civil Law (Consequences of Obligations)
This course consists of the following topics:
A. Means of execution of the obligation which includes voluntary and compulsory execution.
B. Lawful means of the protection of execution.
C. Qualifiers of the consequences of obligation (such as: the condition and the maturity
period), and the joint of creditors and debtors.
D. Relinquishment of the obligation.

This course deals with the general theory of companies, their types whether they are shareholding, ordinary
or mixed. This course also deals with the legal system of bankruptcy, the pre-conditions in order to issue a
decision of bankruptcy and the legal effects on such a decision. In addition, the course highlights the legal
rules governing factual conciliation

This course is practical and fieldwork for students at a certain stage of study. This course concentrates on
visiting different courts, prisons, the legislative council, organizations dealing with law such as the bar
association, and NGOs dealing with human rights. This course also aims at typing the theoretical study
with its operation and practical side. The course will offer
students with all relevant practical information from the inception of a criminal or civil action until a final
judgment is rendered. Practical application of procedures in a case shall be illustrated along with all needed
forms for claims, please and applications.

the purpose of this course is to enable the student to be acquainted with English legal technical
terms and Arabic equivalents, to enrich the student's to linguistic knowledge.
This objective is to be achieved through introducing the student to the definition of law and its
main divisions and different branches. This course includes also the study of a legal subject
detail in order to enable the student to express his legal thoughts freely and to consult foreign
references if need be.

The purpose of the course is to study the fundamental concepts of human rights, and main
outlines of the historical development and evolution of the concept of human rights
approached through liberal or communist premises. Special attention will be given to the
international efforts to protect human rights through the United Nations, the European
agreement for protecting human rights, and through the Arab League.

This course will introduce the student to the efforts exerted by states for a long time in order a
lay down criteria for International Organizations and the objectives of such International
Organizations. It includes a study of the United Nations: its origin, organizations, aims, and
specialized agencies. It also studies regional organizations such as the Arab league,
the African Organization Unity, the American States Organizations.

of compensation suits related to the acts of administration.
