Project involved to creating automatic network oriented class attendance system in VLAN Solaris
environment. Along with web based reporting, backup, VLAN facilities

: Responsible for Solaris Admin. Client will calculate SMBIOS serial number and IPaddress of student laptop and will pass it to attendance server , attendance server in turn communicate with
ORACLE server’s tables to find his actual class and current location if he is in actual class or somewhere
else based upon ip-address in VLAN. If current location matched with actual class location as per class’s
timetable then attendance is marked. Created different tables, cursors, procedures, triggers in Oracle schema
.
Written UNIX shell scripts for cold and hot backup using crontab .Written apache based CGI programming
in shell scripts for reporting in internet browser.
Other tasks were included Solaris/oracle installation. Solaris security/network driver setup, oracle network
setup and Oracle table space / data files management .Did regression/performance testing for different
feature’s modules of NBAS.

:
Project involved network oriented and Solaris zones based setup for online Exam
facility in VLAN Solaris environment. Along with web based reporting, automated email, backup facilities

Exam setup for weekly and sessional test using shell script and expect script ftp/telnet/rlogin enable disable
scheduling for exam start and end time setfacl used for directory permissions, written shell script for
automatic copy check for answer sheet using shell parsing and scoring in file for current result and also
putting result in oracle database so that student averaging can be calculated on semester wise basis .Also
connected excel sheets and web portal for reporting purpose using CGI (shellScriting). Created Solaris
zones for simultaneous practical tests which require different scenarios of oracle database and Solaris
administration like NIS/NFS etc. Setups of SMTP send mail for automation of emailing results.
