Project and system engineering/deployment work on many secure IT/ICT systems
for national government clients, from single-box to global multi-site solutions. Scope
ranged from ConOPs, business change and communications, through information &
system architectures (Level 1, 2 and 3 designs), security architecture, user interface
analysis/design, system build & integration support, support planning and
acceptance testing, down to website and wiki resources.
Handled project/document product planning, communications and implementation
to consistently deliver client satisfaction.
Tender documentation for various marine, communications and defence systems, in
association with the prime bidders.

Joined as Technical Author, responsible for provision of high quality IT training course
notes. Rapidly took on additional responsibilities.
Managed and edited the full portfolio of course notes, working with all stakeholders in a
time-critical business environment. Gained knowledge of PRINCE2. Supervised and
trained-up junior staff, one of whom later took over my role.

Distributed networked IT/ICT systems – user, security and administration guides,
technical specifications, test reports, etc. Mostly in mixed UNIX/Windows
environments, with basic exposure to telecommunications.
Web-based systems - design, development and user documentation. Coimplemented a cross-platform, web based online help system.
Engineered systems and equipment - planning, operator and maintenance manuals
(mainly UK Army AESPs) covering a wide variety of battlefield, support and general
equipments. Gained knowledge of digital radio communications, including
frequency-hopping, encryption and GPS.
Worked to DEF STAN, JSP, AESP, NES, Air Pubs, AECMA, N13002, etc.
