Microboard Processing Inc.'s long established dedicated prototype division offers a full suite of services encompassing circuit board assembly, including BGA placement as well as electronics assembly up through and including full systems integration.

MPI's prototype division routinely accommodates multiple changes on highly complex circuit board assemblies and system builds within the time critical environment of engineering development and/or new product introduction. Dedicated high-speed Fuji lines for seamless transition to production.

Manufacturing Processes by December 1, 2005

At Microboard Processing, we consider RoHS compliance an inherent part of our design process. Restriction of Hazardous Substances, often referred to as the Lead-Free Directive, is certain to have a huge impact on the electronics industries.

As the deadline looms

As the RoHS deadline looms, companies that have not begun the process of becoming RoHS compliant are behind the curve. The European deadline is July

1, 2006, and other countries follow soon thereafter.

Component manufacturers are already discontinuing non-compliant parts, and every electronic product is impacted. Lead-free conversion must begin now,

The RoHS Directive (EU Directive 2002/95/EG) will go into affect on July 1, 2006 in Europe, mandating that electrical and electronic products (EEE) put in the market within the European Union (EU) shall contain restrictive levels of the following substances:

Protecting human health and the environment

This Directive, which aims to protect human health and the environment and mirrors the Directive on

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), applies to electrical and electronic equipment that is dependent on electric or electromagnetic fields in order to work properly. It also applies to some equipment used for the generation, transfer, and measurement of such currents and fields designed for use with a voltage rating not exceeding 1,000 volts for alternating current (AC) and 1,500 volts for direct current (DC).

Microboard Processing is located in Connecticut and is accessible from all major highways (Route 84, 95 and Route 15-Merritt Parkway). MPI is one hour north of New York City, and two hours south of Boston, with convenient access to Bradley International Airport

(Hartford, CT) or the New York metropolitan airports.

From Route 15-Merritt Parkway (North)

Take Parkway Exit 51 onto Route 8 North. Get off on Exit 22 (Seymour). Take a left at the end of the ramp.

Take a right at the light onto

Route 67 (heading east), and proceed 1 mile to Cogwheel Lane (traffic light/Silvermine Industrial Park). Turn right on Cogwheel Lane.

Turn right on Progress Avenue, and take first right. Visitor parking on left.

From Route 15-Merritt Parkway (South)

Take Exit 59 to Route 69. Turn left at end of ramp. After 2 lights turn left onto Lucy Street. Right on Route 63 for 3 miles. Take a left on
