Holland (903) 381-2236 aholland@lisd.org Foster students continue winning ways at Model UN Foster Middle School students walked away with 29 of the 40 awards at Model United Nations (Session 2) simulation held at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches on January 23rd and 24th. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade students competed against about 250 other East Texas students. Model United Nations participants role-play as diplomats representing a nation in a simulated session of a committee of the United Nations. The competition involves researching a country, taking on the role of a diplomat, investigating international issues, debating, deliberating, consulting, and developing solutions to world problems.
