Dr. Michael O’Connor
Managing By Values is the culmination of Dr. O’Connor’s life’s work consisting of
over 30 years of research. As founder of the Center for Managing By Values and
creator of the MBV process, he is called upon daily to provide his expertise in the
areas of personal, group, and organizational behavior. In his book, Managing By
Values with Dr. Ken Blanchard, he describes this practice of the MBV process and
how to effectively implement it in any business situation.
He has over two decades of experience as a conference and seminar speaker,
developing programs and consulting for a wide range of business applications
throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is recognized for his
accomplishments in the fields of leadership, conflict resolution, behavioral
management, values development and organizational development. His role
often can be described as a master consultant-to-consultants, or a master trainer
of trainers.
Dr. O’Connor holds a B.S. in the social sciences, an M.A. in the behavioral
sciences/psychology, and a Ph.D. in Management. He has authored or coauthored over 50 formal training workshops, seminars, extended training
programs, learning tapes, behavioral inventories, research articles, and his most
recent books The Leader Within (2005) and Developing Leadership &
Character(2000). Dr. O’Connor has also developed over 150 different products
for both business and human resources.
He has been a university professor, served as the Vice President of Resource
Development and Consulting at Carlson Learning Company and is the founder of
the Life Group of Companies.
