SCRIP (a.k.a. GIFT CARDS)
SCRIP (a.k.a. gift cards) continues to be
sold in the school office. Order forms may
still be turned in during the day in the
school office. Scrip orders are placed every
Tuesday to ensure delivery by the weekend,
but it is always recommended to order
ahead of time. Please remember that a
minimum of $3,000.00 must be
purchased in order to meet mandatory
fundraising obligations (Plans B & C).
And don’t forget to shop online at
www.shopwithscrip.com, by using our
school’s enrollment code:
436CC76C154L2. American Express
may be ordered on-line and picked up in
the school office. Remember, this may
be used to pay tuition. We also need
parents to sell SCRIP after Masses on
Sundays (PIP hours can be earned for this
service and no finger printing is required).
FOOTBALL MANIA
Football Mania is here! Football Mania
delivers 17 weeks of football action and
opportunities to win. Each ticket is priced
at $20.00 and 100% of each ticket purchase
goes toward eliminating fundraiser
obligations. We are asking each family to
sell 5 tickets (this is part of the mandatory
fundraising for families on Plan B & C).
Just ask past Mania winners how they felt
when they won! You can look on the ticket
for your favorite professional teams. These
tickets also include free music digital
downloads. Tickets are activated as soon
as they are turned in. Are you ready for
some football? We are also looking for
parent volunteers to sell Football Mania
Tickets outside of church on weekend
after all Masses. Parent volunteers can
earn P.I.P. hours and Fundraising credit.
Please contact Mr. Landin for more
details.
SUMMER READING SKILLS
PROGRAMS
Our campus will once again host the
Summer Reading Skills Program, this
Summer. Incoming students from
Kindergarten - 8th grade may attend. This
program is designed and taught by the
Institute of Reading Development and is
offered through a collaboration with UCR
Extension. Please see the attached flyer for
more details.
ONGOING FUNDRAISERS
Please continue to bring in your plastic
bottles and aluminum cans. The Student
Council has developed a committee to
collect and separate recyclables after lunch.
This is a great fundraiser that also teaches
students to become good stewards of the
Earth. Please remember to take off the pull
tabs before turning in your aluminum cans.
We are still collecting them in our
classrooms for the children in conjunction
with the Ronald McDonald House. The
General Mills Box Tops is also a great
fundraiser that is done all year long. They
are found on boxes of cookies, cake mix,
cereal, diapers, etc. Please continue to turn
in your empty ink and toner cartridges. All
of these items may be turned in to the
school office or to classroom teachers.
Students who turn in a certain amount of
items will receive a Caught In The Act
ticket. Individual classrooms are
collecting Coke Code Rewards and may
turn them into the office for Caught In The
Act tickets. Please ask teachers for details.
At this time our school is also in need of
the following items. Paper towels, tissue,
white copy paper, college rule line paper,
and disinfectant wipes. All donations
can be used to eliminate fundraising
obligations.

STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
We believe that St. Catherine of Siena
Parish School is a community where
“Character Counts”. We acknowledge
parents as the primary educators, and in
conjunction with them, guide students to a
closer relationship with God as they meet
the challenges of an increasingly secular
society. We facilitate the spiritual,
academic, social, emotional, and physical
growth of our young people with the belief
that they, in turn, will contribute to the
growth of others through the use of their
individual gifts.
Students grow in the knowledge of their
Catholic faith, in the understanding of their
traditions, and in the practice of moral
values. They grow in their understanding
of and appreciation for each other’s
uniqueness.
As Catholics, we see ourselves as one part
of God’s creation, and students learn that
they are caretakers of the earth and its
environment. They begin to form nurturing
bonds of unity and love with all people and
the universe, and become instruments of
justice, harmony, and peace.
MISSION OF THE SCHOOL
The St. Catherine of Siena Parish School
mission calls us to educate children to
embrace their diversity, to go out into the
world and live as Disciples of Christ, to
share faith and His love with others, to be
good stewards of our environment, and to
be co-creators of His justice and peace.
ROCK-A-THON
Congratulations to our 8th grade class for
