Third Grade Homework News for November 16-20, 2015 Monday-Thursday: Read at least 30 minutes each night and have a parent/ guardian sign your planner. Spelling Words: clown, round, how, cloud, power, crown, thousand, crowd, sound, count, powder, blouse, frown, pound, mound, applause, product, multiplication, division, quotient English: Pronouns Writing: informational writing Monday: Define STEM Vocabulary words using dictionary.com. Remember to use the correct definition as marked on the vocabulary sheet. **Parents sign project sheet and return it with students on Tuesday. Tuesday: Study vocabulary words. Continue research for your Structure Project. Wednesday: Study vocabulary words. Continue working on your Structure Project. Thursday: 70% of AR goal due. Friday: Vocabulary quiz over STEM vocabulary words. Students received the STEM vocabulary sheets on Friday. We went over how to use dictionary.com to find the definitions. If there is a number next to the word, that is the definition needed for the quiz. If no number is marked, students need to use the first definition. The quiz over these words is Friday, November 20th. Students received their Structure Project rubrics and instructions today. Please review the rubric and instructions, sign the sheet, and return it to school with your child. The sheet will stay in their binder behind their reading divider for them to refer to when needed. The projects are due no later the Thursday, December 3rd. Students may bring in the project any day the week of November 30th. NO PROJECT WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 8:45 am ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3rd. Now that students have learned the concept of multiplication and division, we will spend this week solving word problems that could require addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. Some of the word problems will require multi-steps to solve. This Friday students will be assessed on the 3s and solve ten word problems.
