Nottinghamshire Football Association – Football Development Officer – Role Profile Job Title: Reports To: Football Development Officer Senior Football Development Officer (SFDO) Jobs Reporting into the Job Holder: None Job Purpose Lead, support, develop and sustain the delivery of the County Plan in partnership with key stakeholders Provide high quality service to our customers Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities All responsibilities covering the defined geographic areas (Newark & Sherwood, Bassetlaw and Rushcliffe) and local leagues. Lead officer across the County on Girls & Women’s development as well as Disability football development Growth and Retention Develop programmes to sustain and grow the player base of all formats of football Identify and develop positive intervention to raise awareness and increase participation Identify gaps in provision from mini soccer to youth, adult and veterans football and take appropriate action Identify and implement strategies to address the drop out of players Support and build links between schools, colleges, universities and FA Charter Standard Clubs Deliver a clubs services programme providing a range of training and support services Support a high quality introduction to football within schools, working with all school partnerships to deliver coaching, out of school hours programmes, volunteering and young leadership programmes and the implementation of the competitions framework To support the ESFA, BCS and BUSA to run high quality flexible competitions Raise Standards and improve behaviour Support and deliver the FA Charter Standard Programme Develop a network of high quality FA Charter Standard Community Clubs Support the implementation of behaviour initiatives e.g. Respect Work with the County FA Welfare Officer to ensure compliance Better players: Support, resource and monitor the player pathways including under-represented groups by investing in high quality clubs and coaches Identify gaps in coaching provision and work with funding partners to address the need Implement the outcomes of the Youth Player Development Review Running the game effectively: Work effectively with the Operations Team Work with key partners and volunteers to develop, implement and evaluate the County Plan and Local Area Plan Guide, support and lead volunteers through the Committee structure to deliver the County FA’s objectives Strengthen relationships with clubs/leagues Work with club/league administrators to promote and support IT developments Workforce: Support the recruitment, retention and development of all volunteers Develop and deliver the coach education programme Develop and invest in young volunteers locally through the Football Futures Programme Recognise and reward volunteers through the annual Awards Event Facilities: Support clubs and community groups to access small grants Support applicants to develop football development plans for capital bids to the Football Foundation and other sources Protect existing playing facilities and identify sites of potential risk Establish positive relationships with local partners Improve the access and quality of training and playing facilities Help prioritise investment into facilities and provide support and guidance to schemes to obtain funding Provide support and guidance to existing football facility providers and users to ensure their sustainability Marketing PR and Communications: Support grass roots football to promote the game Support the delivery of targeted campaigns Positively raise the profile and the perception of the CFA in leading and developing grass roots football Use local data collected to identify our customer base and market accordingly Promote partnership/sponsorship opportunities across the County Disability Lead: Effectively manage the Nottinghamshire Disability Football Family (NDFF) project Co-ordinate schools festivals and leagues for both Pan Disabilities and Impairment Specific groups Attend and successfully represent both the NDFF and Notts FA at conferences and meetings for disability and sport both on a county, regional and national level Co –ordinate and implement the “Ability Counts Flexible Football” League programme as the base for all adult players to participate in football Support the development of 4 county leagues, U16 Pan (W2PFC) 16+ (Ability Counts) Mental Health and School football Manage the Want 2 Play FC club programme to allow it to grow into a full network of teams Manage and map the opportunities for Disability Football in the county Effectively manage and administer the FA Cerebral Palsy Centre of Excellence for the region Effectively manage and administer the FA Player Development Centre in the county Be responsible for the budgets in this area Girls & Women’s Lead: Effectively manage and influence KPI’s in order to improve female provisions in the county Attend all local and national meetings for women’s and girl football Create and implement new provisions designed at increasing participation Effectively manage The FA Female Player Development Centre in the county Map and manage all female provisions in the county Become the point of contact for women’s and girls football at local and national levels for the county Be responsible for the budgets in this area Key skills and experience required – Essential: Experience of Sports / Football Development Ability to work strategically with partner organisations to deliver programmes and courses Ability to
