He has served as Project Manager for the design of numerous local water and wastewater systems and associated facilities. The following is a summary of his experience. 2006- Present Principal Engineer, Hasan Consultants, Ventura, CA Served as Project Manager for numerous civil engineering, water and wastewater facilities projects and systems. Some of these projects included water conveyance systems such as City of Fillmore water distribution system analysis and recommendations. 1995-2006 Engineering Division head, City of Long Beach Water Department, Long Beach, CA Served as main Engineer in charge of all projects directing other engineers for completion of projects including design, review, construction management, budgeting and implementation. 1993-1994 Principal Engineer, Hasan Consultants, Ventura, CA Served as Project Manager for numerous water facilities projects and systems. 1988-1993 Principal Engineer, Boyle Engineering Corporation, Ventura, CA Served as Project Manager for numerous water facilities projects and systems. Some of these projects included the following: design of the Morongo Basin Aqueduct Turnout for Mojave Water Agency; design of the Oxnard Northeast Industrial Assessment District, including water pipes, roadways, sewer pipes, storm drain facilities, sewer lift station and roadway; hydraulic i analysis and design of pumping facility modifications for USCB; design of the del Norte Blending Station and transmission pipeline for the City of Oxnard. For these projects, Mr. Villanueva was responsible for planning, coordination with relevant agencies and preparation of plans and specifications. For the Oxnard Northeast Industrial Assessment District, he was also responsible for construction contract administration. 1980-1988 Senior Civil Engineer, Boyle Engineering Corporation, Ventura, CA Served as Project Manager for the Santa Barbara Water Systems Improvements Board Program for the City as Santa Barbara, and as Project Manager for the update of the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District System Plan 1981-1990. In addition, Mr. Villanueva provided engineering and design services for the following projects: Cornell Water Booster Pump Station expansion for Las Virgenes Municipal water District; filters for the Quartz Hill Water Treatment Plant expansion for the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency; treatment plant for the city of Arvin, California; several water related projects for the USCB including a hydraulic analysis of the campus water system to evaluate fire flows, a surge analysis of the water pumping station, and a leak detection survey of selected campus water lines. Mr. Villanueva was also advisor for the Alexandria General Organization for Sanitary Drainage in Alexandria, Egypt. Here he coordinated the design efforts of several U.S. design teams and Egyptian staff in the design and construction of a $2 billion sewage expansion program consisting of pump stations, pipelines and an ocean outfall, and prepared a feasibility report on implementing an excluded waste program to reduce undesirable solids from surface streets. 1976-1980 Associate Civil Engineer, Boyle Engineering Corporation, Ventura, CA Functioned as Project Engineer on Santa Barbara Water System Improvement Bond Program; various water related projects for Las Virgenes Municipal District; expansion of the Ventura Coastal Lemonade Plant in Ventura; and the design of a 54-inch storm drain and a 24-inch water line for the City of Oxnard. Assisted in the draft of an Areawide Facilities Plan for Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, including an in depth evaluation of a variety of major solids handling and disposal alternatives. Assisted in the contract administration of the Cambria Wastewater Treatment Plant. 1968-1976 Assistant Civil Engineer, Boyle Engineering Corporation, Ventura, CA Assisted in the design of the following projects: Tapia Water Reclamation Facility for Las Virgenes Municipal Water District; Long Beach Water Renovation Plant for Los Angeles Regional Sanitation District; Ventura Treatment Plant; roadway improvements throughout Ventura County. For many of these projects, duties involved the selection of equipment, preparation of estimates of probable costs, design layout and plan preparation, and preparation of specifications. ii
