JOB TITLE : Computer Repair & Maintenance Technician

LEVEL : Three

JOB DESCRIPTION

Computer Repair & Maintenance Technician watches the machines for stoppage or malfunctions, accordingly examines the machine, finds out the problem, disassembles the machine, checks DC/AC/Solid state circuit and devices and solves the problem. They also check and test the analog and digital circuit, and perform the maintenance and repairing of electrical and electronic circuit in close supervision of the senior computer technician and/or computer engineer.

5.1 Checks whether all Power Supply connections are connected properly

5.2 Measures the voltages on all pins of the connectors.

5.3 Checks whether all jumpers are correctly set with the help of User Manual Guide.

5.4 Finds the causes of the Problems in the Mother board.

Problem with any one of the cards.

5.4.1 Removes all Cards except Display Card and observes the result.

5.4.2 Finds the Faulty Cards by inserting the Cards one by one if the Computer starts

5.4.3 Replaces the Display Card with a new one if the Computer does not start and observes the result.

5.4.4 If the Computer does not start even now then the problem is not likely to be with the Cards, so:-

Replaces the memory from the slot and check the result.

Replaces the microprocessor and observe the result.

5. If the Computer does not start even now, there is some problem with the POST itself and some fault must be present in some of the

Control Logic Circuits like DMA Controller, Interrupt Controller or Other Internal Components which are not possible to repair, so replace the Motherboard itself.
