Professional Experience
Forty one years comprising positions held as Director, Senior Professor, Dean, Professor,
Research Coordinator, Chairman Financial Management Division, IPE; and Lecturer in
Economic Administration and Financial Management, University of Rajasthan. IPE is a leading
management research, education, consultancy, and training institute supported by Indian Council
for Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government
of India. As Director, IPE, the responsibilities entrusted relate to leading networking, planning,
expansion management, research, consultancy, management education, training and management
development, interacting with an interdisciplinary group of colleagues, and creating competitive
advantage for institutional building. During the course of association with IPE, frequent
interaction takes place with global organizations, inter-regional organizations, regional
organizations and organizations in India such as the civil service machinery, public and private
enterprise CEOs and managers, Planning Commission, Finance Commission, educational

planners, institutions and global organizations. Linkages have to be maintained with regulatory
organizations (AICTE, UGC, State Authorities) and apex business bodies such as CII, FICCI,
FAPCCI, ASSOCHAM, etc. Nominations on various international bodies, government and non
government committees, enterprise boards, national and international publications, have been
some salient features. The stints as visiting professor at London Business School, Maison De
Science Dela’ Homme, and University of Bradford, Faculty of Economics Ljubljana University,
International Center for Promotional Enterprises, Ljubljana, Great Lakes Institute, S P Jain
Institute of Management are worth mentioning. The professional experience includes completion
of more than fifty large research projects, an equal number of consultancies, publication of more
than 100 research papers, editing of five journals, bringing out 30 books, guiding 50 Ph.D
scholars, conducting 300 management development and training programmes, working with
various Ministries at the central and the state levels and holding positions in various international
and national bodies.
