EARLY ENTRY
LATROBE SALT
LaTrobe’s School Access program (SALT)
allows entry into a degree based on a
written application supported by a
school recommendation rather than
purely an ATAR. See information on the
website at www.latrobe.edu.au/salt or
grab a brochure from the Careers Room
LaTrobe box.
UOW's Early Admission
Program guide outlines all that you
need to know about what Early
Admission is, how it works, and how to
apply.
Students can download a copy on the
Early Admission website
http://www.uow.edu.au/future/earlyadmission to learn which courses are
being offered and the indicative criteria
related to each course. Please be aware
you do not need to meet this criteria in
order to be considered - this criteria is
designed to indicate to students how
they should be performing throughout
year 12 to have a good chance of
succeeding in the course at UOW.
University of Notre Dame – Sydney

University of New England - Early Entry
UNE’s early entry program allocates a
place at UNE to current Year 12 or
equivalent students based on their
school’s recommendation rather than
their final marks. Places are awarded to
recognise your hard work and
contribution to school life throughout
your high school years. For more info
see: http://www.une.edu.au/for/futurestudents/landing/earlyentry.php
Charles Sturt University – PREP
PREP is an early entry scheme designed
to attract academically talented
students from high schools and TAFEs in
NSW, ACT and non metropolitan areas
in Victoria. A successful PREP
application guarantees selected
students an offer to their nominated
course at CSU, starting in Session 1
(February / March), prior to the
mainstream selection system, which is
based on the Australian Tertiary
Admission Rank (ATAR). This means you
could be made an offer to study your
nominated course at CSU before your
Year 12 results are known. For more
info see:
http://www.csu.edu.au/oncampus/getting
-to-uni/prep
I have PREP forms in the Careers Room
for those interested students.
Remember to be guaranteed an offer
under PREP the chosen CSU course
must be your highest preference
nominated. You can however change
the order of these preferences once
early round offers are made. That is
change your preferences for the main
round of offers.

Megan’s Melbourne Experience
Meet Megan Williams. She's currently
completing her Bachelor of Agriculture,
majoring in Production Animal Health. Her
dream career would incorporate her
passion in genetics by combining it with
the equine industry (possibly in Veterinary
Science). Here's what she had to say about
her Melbourne experience.
“I chose the Melbourne School of Land and
Environment because I believe it is the best
university and faculty for me to gain my
undergraduate degree. Its reputation
precedes it.
the industry that I plan to pursue my career
in.”
When I was accepted into my course I felt
excited in the anticipation of knowing I was
about to embark on a new journey that was
the beginning of a career in the industry I
have always wanted to work in.
MORE INFO
I find my lecturers and tutors to be friendly
and approachable. They are always willing
to help those who wish to further their
knowledge. They are passionate in their
area of expertise and have an ability to
immerse us in their subjects, providing a
stimulating environment.
I like the campus because of its proximity to
the city and its accessibility. Everything you
could possibly need is in the one place,
accompanied by the fantastic grounds and
buildings that create a wonderful learning
environment.
The opportunities that arise at MSLE to
further my knowledge through
extracurricular activities (eg meat judging
and the shearing course) are inspiring. The
interactions for learning that exists between
both peers and lecturers are also beneficial
to my development.
After graduation I hope to pursue further
studies in agriculture, particularly in animal
science with a focus on the equine and/or
beef industry. My dream career would be to
follow my passion of genetics by combining
it with the equine industry, possibly in
veterinary science.
My favourite subject is Vet Science. It is
providing me with an understanding of the
area of agriculture and offers me the
opportunity to study at the country campus,
Dookie, giving me hands-on experience in
