Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to our latest Garrison e

advertisement
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to our latest Garrison e-circular. I had hoped to
report that redeployments were proceeding well, but the volcanic situation in
Iceland has robbed me of that opportunity. Fortunately it looks like the flight
situation will resolve itself in the coming days and we'll be back on track for those
families waiting for loved ones to return. For those Strathconas and Engineers
currently deploying with Task Force 1-10, all the best from all members of the
Garrison and we look forward to your return after another successful mission.
Great progress has been made in getting the expanded RV parking lot ready for
business, and I am pleased to report that spaces remain for those of who have
been waiting for such an opportunity.
For those of you that are looking at the great weather and wondering why your
vehicle still has winter tires on, the upcoming car maintenance event by 1 Service
Battalion's Maintenance Company is a great chance to rectify this situation. Our
fall event was a great fundraiser and I hope you'll find this one to be as
successful as the last.
Finally, I would like to address the current situation with regards to illegal drug
use on the Garrison. I will not kid myself and pretend that this does not exist,
indeed we have had several incidents over the past two years. However I will
make you aware that you have a chance to contribute in ending this situation by
contacting the NIS' information line at 1.877.355.DRUG (3784) You too have a
role in solving these issues that affect our entire community and can work to
make this a safer place for everyone.
Yours,
TB

COMMUNITY RV COMPOUND
We're expanding! If you haven't already heard, we're adding a second
compound with 173 new lots and diagonal parking to make it easier for the big
rigs to move about. Lines and lot numbers still need to be painted hopefully in
June/July timeframe, but we're giving those on the wait list a few options to move
in earlier if they choose:
a) move in "temporarily" with the understanding that all vehicles will need to be
removed while painting is in progress. Vehicles will be moved into compound by
appointment and will not have 24/7 access through MP shack until painting is
completed; OR
b) remain on wait list until the new compound is completed at which time
individuals will be contacted to bring in the required paperwork and move into
their assigned lot(s) as per the current wait list.
Individuals seeking storage for RV's, trailers, and vehicles can the Facility &
Customer Service Desk at the Military Fitness Centre, local 4392, to find out
eligibility and availability. Vehicles must have valid insurance and registration
and be in operable condition to be stored in the compound.
Visit our website: www.pspedmonton.com/CRA/CommunityServices for current
categories and fees associated with the Community RV Compound.
