BBC Question Time Debut Students at OSH enjoyed a politics double-bill this term, with a visit to Westminster followed by an appearance on BBC’s Question Time programme in Sedgley. The Lower Sixth politics group attended Westminster in February and followed a guided tour of parliament with attendance at a mini-debate on schools in Dudley before watching the Speaker’s procession and the afternoon debate in the Commons chamber. In early March, four students attended the recording of BBC Question Time with guest panellists including Germaine Greer, Dame Shirley Williams and Douglas Alexander. The discussions covered a wide variety of topics including terrorism on the sub-continent, the credit crunch and prescription charges. Sam Connell and Kaspar Zeta-Skeet both made intelligent contributions to the debate and appeared on TV!
