Journal: The Council does not want Equality, or any man for that matter, to have any
knowledge beyond what the Council chooses to teach. Equality is thirsty for knowledge,
yet at some level he knows that is “wrong” and that it might bring him punishment.
Why do you think the Council does not want the citizens to have too much knowledge?
Is knowledge dangerous? Is it powerful? Why in the world is it forbidden?
Why do you think Equality continues to pursue knowledge beyond what he already
knows? Why is it so important to him? Why would he risk punishment? Do you
understand Equality’s feelings about knowledge? Would you pursue knowledge if it was
forbidden? Why or why not? DO THIS ON SEPARATE PAPER AND ATTACH TO
THIS SHEET! (30 points)
