Adopted 1/10 Revised 5/12 STUDENT TEACHING in your classroom will be allowed: •If you are a licensed teacher (elementary, secondary, special education, early childhood education) and you have moved into a special education classroom (Resource Room, selfcontained, or early childhood special education), AND • You have completed all of the required classes for licensure in the area in which you are teaching (e.g., autism, ID, Generalist), AND •You have taken the PRAXIS II for Special Education General Knowledge and you have taken the Principles of Learning and Teaching for the grade level you are teaching (K-6 or 7-12), AND •You provide to your advisor your most current CCSD evaluation from your principal. It must be a satisfactory evaluation, AND •You must sign up for EDSP 491 Student Teaching and EDSP 492 Student Teaching Seminar and attend the seminar once a week, AND •We will supervise you over the course of a 16-week semester. STUDENT TEACHING for initial licensure: •If you do not possess a teaching license, you must do traditional student teaching.
