The incidents below are briefly described to keep people’s anonymity and lasted much longer than reported. Pray that the encounter they have with us will impact their lives. Friday Outside the Mill for ½ hour talking to 2 guys. J was asking lots of questions about Jesus, a bit cynical saying he didn’t believe He existed and that he was the devil incarnate. He carried on chatting, then asked us prove that Jesus exists. Gave him testimonies and prayed with him, a good encounter. 11.20pm Outside McCluskys, talking to the door staff. 11.40pm Just spoke to homeless guy outside the shop by Barcadia. Gave him some lollies. Bought him some crisps and coke. His heroin use is still the same. He is grateful to know that we continue to pray for him. Sat down with him and gave him a hug, and while doing that another guy introduced himself to Mike. He said he thought we did a great job. He and his friends were in a band and they had just gigged at a local pub. Just outside the station, saw R who had been arrested on Thursday for beating up a guy and he may go to prison. M is the street homeless guy I found last time outside KCAH. He was very tearful and really pleased to see me and blessed that I remembered his name. Had a long chat with him. He wants to get his life back, he got quite tearful. He said he was fed up of sitting with the people he is currently with. We then saw S, a street homeless guy, who is all over the place, been smoking weed. A bit more coherent tonight. Gave us a hug and we gave him lollies. Just outside the McDonalds bus stop, speaking to A, street homeless. Gina saw him last week. He was telling us about his life. He has served time in prison for shooting his father who had raped his younger sister and used to beat his mum. He has had 96 convictions over the years and has done 23 years in prison. He in near to ending it all. He has had TB and suffers with Korsakoff's syndrome, a form of dementia (it affects younger people who binge drink). He sleeps in doorways. He wants a place to lay his head, to shave. I will speak to Paul to see if because of his dementia there is any help available. 1.10am Outside Hippodrome spoke to H the doorman, gave him a hug and chatted about life. 1.55am We need to go home now as one of the team needs to be up early in the morning. A friend of his had been pounced on, robbed and left unconscious, Street Pastor were on the scene to help him. 10.50pm Spoke to 4 young girls, first year students. They said they could hear the bells of the church nearby and were tempted to go. We told them about Kingsgate church. 11.25pm Had a long conversation with L1 (homeless guy). Also met guy I who goes to Everyday church and keen to be a Street Pastor. L1 has been street homeless for 3 years after a breakup of his marriage. He was embarrassed about his situation. He was sure he was going to get into the YMCA next week. Said he was very hungry, so we got him some food. Both L and I were pleased to be prayed for. 11.50 p.m. Spent 10mins with Kingsgate Church people giving out bacon rolls and water. Spoke to them about L1 and took some bacon rolls for him 12am Spent 10 mins outside the Tun with L2, who takes heroin. We bought him a pot noodle, had a good conversation with him. He accepted prayer. 12.30am Saw 2 teens having a row. Some police passing so we handed them over to them. 2.00am Outside the Hippodrome met one of the young guys we had met earlier who was now very drunk and separated from his friends. He wanted to get a bus home, so we walked him to the bus stop. Then one of the team phoned his home. His father and sister came out to pick him up, so a good result, although the father didn’t look too happy. The sister offered us £20 which we did not accept. 2.30am Opposite the Metro Bank, met B who was very happy. He had baptised his baby today. Said it was a great day although he has split with his partner. We prayed with him. 3.15 a.m. Spent about 30 minutes with a very drunk girl in her late teens or early twenties. She was with a sensible friend, but another drunk girl was holding her, who was not always so helpful. They had called an ambulance, but they alleged the ambulance staff were rude to them and went off. We gave her some water to drink and got her walking up and down to try and sober her up a bit. She got marginally better, and after being turned down by about 2 taxis, finally got a taxi that would take her. We waited until the taxi drove off. 3.55 am Gave out a sleeping bag and socks to a homeless guy 4.00 am Just been called to Dallas Chicken. When we got there, there were about 4 police surrounding a young drunk girl G who was frightened of getting into a taxi as when drunk she ends up in hospital. After a while a police woman turned up and took her home to her friend’s house It may seem strange to pray for the encounters we have with self-inflicted drunk people, but how many of those we meet and witness to have ever been brought before God’s throne of grace? Please pray for the teams out this week: Friday team 1: Graham Tim, Elizabeth, Katie C; Prayer Pastor: Annalice and Simon Friday team 2: Paul, Andy, Alan Dean, Katie Beckett Saturday team: Scott, Liesl, a. n. others Prayer Pastor: Mike P & Jess Paul Jacobs Street Pastor Kingston Coordinator 2014 diary Please put relevant dates in your diaries 8th November 30th November 9th December Kingston Street Pastors Training – morning only – breakfast included Kingston Street Pastor Celebration Kingston Street Pastor Christmas Dinner Street Pastors Kingston is a project coordinated by Oxygen a Kingston Based Youth Charity and is endorsed by Rt Hon Edward Davey MP, Rt Rev Dr Richard Cheetham Bishop of Kingston and Chief Supt Glenn Tunstall, Borough Commander Kingston Police.
