2015-16
INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH

This should be the first paragraph of your personal essay—or approximately the first 100 words if
you’re starting in/with a scene.
Please have your introductory paragraph on a separate sheet from your outline.
OUTLINE: PERSONAL ESSAY
Due Fri., Sept. 11
Using pp. 43-46 in the MLA Handbook, compose an outline for your personal narrative/essay.
Use MLA style and complete sentences.
Set up the outline as separate from your introduction. So, begin the outline with your first

paragraph or section. Use the capitalized alphabetic letters—A, B, C, etc.—to label sub points
within each paragraph or section.
