To: All Interested Parties
Portland Community College Technical Training Program is now offering a new 3rd
component to our Hybrid Vehicle Training. It is called Predictive Maintenance and
Battery Rebuilding.
This first run will be offered May 8 and 9 and then again May 15 and 16, 2012.
We are offering this class only to those who have completed the first two PCC hybrid
classes listed next.
PCC CEU 9381 Introduction to Hybrid Safety Systems
PCC CEU 9383 Hybrid Vehicle Information Systems
If you are not sure that you have completed these two classes call Dorinda at
971-722-4373 between 9 – 5, M – F and she can look it up. If you have taken these
classes you should have a signed certificate.
What is this new class about?
Outcomes for:
Predictive Maintenance (PM), Electric Machine Testing & Rechargeable Energy Storage
Systems (HV Battery Systems).
At the completion of this program the student will be able to do the following:
Understand and be able to apply PM concepts to their own workshop needs.
State of Health (SOH) check before a prospective buyer purchases a hybrid/electric/fuel
cell vehicle.
Customers with "out-of-warranty" vehicles that want to know of any impending or
eminent repair.
Trend/track the SOH of customer HEV systems.
At the completion of Electric Machine Testing & Rechargeable Energy Storage
Systems (HV Battery Systems) the student will be able to do the following:
Perform High Voltage battery module analysis by performing Power, Energy, and
Temperature testing.
Analyze battery data to determine whether the battery pack needs module replacements
or conditioning, (battery pack SOH).
Perform High Voltage battery module charging.
Perform High Voltage battery discharging.
Perform Electric Machine (motors/generators) rotor and stator tests.
Analyze Electric Machine data to determine the SO.
COST:
The cost for the 2 day class is: $200.00 per student. This is a special introductory price.
We would like participants to give constructive feedback on content and layout of this
course.

Visitors to PCC must purchase a one-day parking permit and park only in the general
parking areas, in accordance with the PCC Parking Regulations. One-day permits are
