ASPCC Sylvania Director Funding Program The purpose of the Director Funding Program is to provide financial support to student projects that focus on student enrichment, retention, and campus life. The funds are appropriated by the ASPCC Directors, a board of student leaders who organize and provide additional services and events for students. The Director’s goal with this funding program is to provide access to the student activity fee, to students. The goals of this program are: To create programs that encourage student involvement To advocate for new and innovative ways to engage, enrich, and support the Portland Community College Environment Students may receive up to $300 in funding per academic year. The student can apply as many times as they choose, as long as $300 is not exceeded. This funding is on a first come, first served-basis. Projects can be applied for until May 1st. If more funding is needed, the student should talk to the executive director to see if extra funding is available. Guidelines Eligibility The applicant must be available to present their proposal at the ASPCC Directors meeting in order for the proposal to be voted on (and either approved or denied). The applicant must be currently attending the Sylvania campus, and the funds given must be used to better the campus environment at PCC Sylvania. Process Step 1: Obtain Application Form from ASPCC. Step 2: Meet with Executive Director or designee to submit application (preference will be given to students who apply at least one month in advance) and make an appointment to present a proposal no more than ten minutes at the Directors Meeting. Step 3: Within two weeks of the presentation at the Director’s Meeting, the student will be notified via MyPCC e-mail of the status of their request. Step 4: Disbursement of funds will be given after receipt of the expense. It may take up to two weeks to be reimbursed. Step 5: Upon approval, the applicant will be assigned a point person by the ASPCC Directors to assist in the needs of the project, and in the follow up. Step 6: Once the project has been completed, the applicant will be required to submit the Evaluation form to the Executive Director outlining what they did, what worked well, and what could be done differently next time. We require all students to present this form at the director’s meeting. Please contact the executive director to get on the agenda.
