Mode selector to takeoff, select load.
Insert data to ZFW.
Engage full thrust.
Select fuel page.
When checklist to “papers” read, select Load & Clear.
Once performance discussed, recall T/O page, enter reduced thrust for calc
check. Leave on this setting.
Capt’s briefing before start.
Should we have a problem on the ground, I will position the aircraft with the problem
downwind, set the park brake & advise the cabin crew to “STANDBY”.
We will assess the problem and you will action the recall items on my command.
We will re-assess the situation and if an evacuation is required, my actions will be
(…..), simultaneously you will (…..).
We will read the Passenger Evacuation Checklist. I will then manage the situation on
board while you will manage the passengers upwind of the aircraft.”

The captain is to pass the loadsheet copy to the F/O for safe keeping on person. This
document will aid the F/O in notifying the emergency services of the location of any
dangerous goods should such a situation arise.
Start Procedures

Start stopwatch on duct pressure drop.
Monitor system A hydraulic pressure to ensure pressure remains at zero
during engine start. (For engine start during pushback only)
Oil pressure within 30 sec – call “Oil Pressure rising”.
As Capt places start lever to idle, observe second hand on stop watch.
Fuel flow on start, 360 to 450 kg/hr.
EGT within 20 sec.
At 30% N2, place hand on starter switch.

At 35 – 40% N2 Check; Start switch moves to Off, Duct pressure recovery,
START VALVE OPEN light out, stop stopwatch and call “Starter cutout”.
On duct pressure recovery for second motor start, reset stopwatch and start
again for 1 minute for APU shut down.

Stand thrust levers @ 1.4 EPR.
PNF to ensure thrust set by 60 kts.
Call “Positive Rate of Climb” on VSI, RALT & ALT.
On Takeoff:
a. @ 1500’, PF calls for EPR
b. PNF selects EPR, calls FMA changes and selects U/C lever off and
RTO off.
c. @ 3000’, PF calls for 210 kts.
d. Once Flaps up, PNF calls for PDC climb/LVL CHG, Speed.
e. PNF calls FMA changes
f. PF calls for after takeoff checks/checklist.
