Money and Math Around the World
This activity involves making purchases from various countries around the world.
The students are given pictures of money from various countries and a
conversion chart. They are then given prices for various items and they have to
determine how much money they would need in American dollars to pay for the
items. This is an interesting activity that helps students understand money
differences around the world and gives them practice in converting from foreign
currency to U.S. currency. The grade level for this activity could be from 6 th – 8th,
and the difficulty level is low to medium.
