Monday, September 21, 2015 Dear Band Directors, We are so pleased that you will be with us for the 51st Annual Mid-South Marching Band Festival. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, September 26th, beginning with the National Anthem at 1 PM. The following information should answer any questions that you have concerning the festival. If not, please do not hesitate to give us a call. 1. Arrival – A reminder that Mid-South is held on the campus of Gadsden City High School located at 1917 Black Creek Parkway. You are allotted one hour for warm up; however, there is plenty of room for warm-up so take the time you need. Please allow time for a 15-minute walk to the stadium. 2. Bus Parking – The entire front parking lot will be reserved for bus parking and equipment trailers. 3. Registration – Directors should sign in and pick up their information packet upon arrival at the front entrance of the auditorium. This packet will include a program, map, director’s badges, etc. Each band will be assigned guides to assist should you have any questions. 4. Dressing Areas – Dressing areas for band students only will be located in the Fine Arts Department adjacent to the auditorium. There will be restrooms inside and a few portable toilets will be placed on the main sidewalk outside the auditorium. Please encourage your students to use these portable toilets to cut down on congestion inside the building. 5. Director Seating – The top two rows in front of the press box will be reserved for directors and staff only. No one will be allowed inside the press box. 6. Security – Uniformed officers will be patrolling the entire stadium and campus area. First Aid will be handled by the Gadsden Fire Department medics and will be located inside the field house. 7. Video Recordings – ProCat Audio/Video will be on site to professionally video your performance and DVD’s will be available on the day of the festival. 8. Band Seating – A seating chart will be included in your information packet upon arrival. Due to the large number of bands, please adhere to this strictly and pack them in a close together as possible. 9. Equipment Loading – We will help transport your larger pieces of equipment from the warm-up area to the performance area. Mid-South will not be held responsible for any damage to the contents of the equipment trailer. Please have a parent available to supervise the loading/unloading and transport of your equipment. The loading area is adjacent to the warm-up area. ***We welcome any band to bring their own transportation system for their equipment. This will eliminate wait times and expedite the loading and unloading process.*** 10. Concessions – A full line of concessions will be available for the duration of the festival and will include hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, and Chick-Fil-A, along with an assortment of snacks, candies and drinks. 11. Emergency Repairs – A representative from Gadsden Music Co. will be on site to assist with emergency repairs. 12. The following items are not permitted inside Titan Stadium: Fire batons or Confetti. No Fireworks are permitted within Titan Stadium without proper permit and prior approval by Gadsden City Schools. We are looking forward to your performance and wish you the very best of luck.
