Wilkommen in Deutsch!
We will learn about German Culture and Language.
The 4 areas will cover:
WL1-1.1.4 Ask and answer simple questions Communication
WL1-2.1.3 Identify cultural similarities and differences (i.e., concepts of time, dress, food,
dwellings, travel, shopping). Culture
WL1-3.1.1 Recognize and transfer concepts learned in other disciplines when used in
the foreign language classroom (i.e., social studies--weather, geographical terms; mathmoney; science--animals).Connections
WL1-4.1.1 Recognize differences between sound systems of language(s) studied and
the native language (i.e., alphabet, cognates, letter blends). Comparisons
Required Items for Class EVERYDAY

Paper for taking notes (a notebook or loose leaf in a binder is perfect)

Pencil and Eraser + an extra pencil

Folder

Class Book and Materials --*provided
You need your book and will take notes every day. Bring them to class before the
bell rings.
Also Needed

Something to color with (ex. Crayons, Colored Pencils, Markers, or
Highlighters)

Responsible
Be in your assigned seat on time when the bell rings. Stay in your seat until
the dismissal bell
Sharpen pencils at the beginning of class before we start.
Bathroom and drinks before you come to class.
Homework done on-time. Complete the entire assignment. Missing work
must be done to participate on fun activity days.
Pay attention (Passt auf)
Do your own work
Get the assignment and notes on Missed Days
Stay in assigned seat
Respectful
Encourage and support others
Respect the personal space and property of others – We borrow the room.
Please do not touch the objects in the room of the other teacher. I will
bring things to show and pass around. Everything else is hands off. This
also means no food or drink.
