Well, its like we've never been away !!
The first week of the new season got underway this morning with games across all divisions.
But first things first, it was the Arthur Boswell Cup match between League Champions AFC
Phoenix & League Cup Winners AFC Pegasus at Foxash. After going three goals down, AFC
Pegasus brought the game back level with goals from Clarke, Turner & Higgins but neither side
could take advantage in the extra thirty minute period so the game went to penalties and it was
Pegasus who grabbed the season's first bit of silverware, coming out on top in the shootout by 76.
In the Premier Division Ramsey Utd and FCB played out a 1-1 draw; Kinch put Ramsey ahead
but Moore equalised for FCB in the second half. Real BTS travelled to Kelvedon and came away
with the points, winning 3-1 thanks to strikes from Joyce, Dilliway & Isom, Harvey got the
Kelvedon goal. A bit of a goal-fest at Shrub End saw Tollegion beat Bayern Monkwick 6-5 !!
Hunwick (2), Rollo (2), Baker & McMillin got the 'legion goals, Cooper (2), Lark, Walker & Brooke
scored for the Bayerns.
In Division One, AFC Pegasus Res and St Edmunds drew 1-1, Wilson on target for the Saints,
Harrison hitting a late equaliser for Pegasus. CUSA played hosts to Oyster Legion but it was the
Oystermen who took the points with a 3-2 win. Rutter got two and Wormell the other, while
Renton & Foulkes scored for CUSA. Colne Star are back on the goal trail putting eight past
Kelvedon Res and only conceding three in reply. On target for Colne Star were Joseph (3), Gridley
(2), Hill (2) & O'Hara, while Harry Harris got all three for Kelvedon. Doverston beat Pitchbury 4-3,
Horner (2), Gooding & Thomas on target there with Hodson getting a hat-trick for Pitchbury.
In Division Two it was two goals from Kelly who gave Botolphs a win over FC Byair. Quayside
went down at home to FC Straws by 5-1 with Jackson getting four. Smith scored the other goal
for Straws, Scowcroft consoled the Quaysiders. AFC Lexden and Borussia Thorpmund, both
promoted at the end of last season drew 0-0.
Elmstead Athletic started well in Division Four, beating AFC Phoenix Res 4-1, Everett (2),
Langmead & Robinson scored for Elmstead, Roberts got the Phoenix goal. Feering Utd beat
Allstars 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Irons, while FC Prettygate beat Polstead 4-2 thanks to
goals from Wye (2), Bond & Andrews, Romano and an Alex Wells penalty opened the seasons
account for Polstead. Newtown Rovers beat Tolleshunt Darcy 2-1 with goals from Davis & Rymer,
Southern got the Darcy consolation.
AFC Colchester top the Division Four table after week one thanks to a 9-0 win at home Newtown
Rovers Res. On target for AFC were Flynn & Ekins with a hat-trick apiece, plus one for Norton,
Bayes & Bethell. Corecalona beat St Edmunds Res 6-2, Auty (2), Bulmore, Taylor, Newcombe &
Cheeseworth on target there, with Wilson & Allen scoring for the Saints.
In Division Five Tempest opened with a win, beating Chappel & Wakes Colne Res 4-0, goals
coming from Harding (2), Perrin & O'Brien. Clarendon drew 0-0 with CBC Alresford and Sporting
Colchester & Corecalona Reserves also drew, 1-1 this time, Gook on target for Sporting, Smith
getting the Corecalona goal. Tiptree Jobserve beat Athletico Layer 3-1, Collins got a brace and
Curnick the other, Sadler scored for Athletico. Highwoods Foxash Res beat Colchester Utd Deaf
7-2 thanks to goals from McNamara (3), Griggs (2) & Overall (2).

All league matches today with the majority of clubs in action ...
In the Premier Division, AFC Phoenix began their title defence with a 3-1 win away at Highwoods
Foxash. Gregory (2) & Brewer got the goals for Phoenix, Knowles consoled Highwoods. AFC
Pegasus played hosts to SC Kelvedon and took the points winning 4-2 thanks to a brace from
Johnson & one each for Springett & Higgins. Kelvedon had Barratt & Cole on target. Bayern
Monkwick drew 2-2 with Real BTS, Lund & Cooper scored for the Bayerns, Smithen & White got
the BTS goals. Tollegion & Ramsey also shared the points, this time in a 1-1 draw, Andrews put
Ramsey ahead, Keeble equalised inside the last five minutes.
In Division One St Edmunds beat CUSA 5-2 thanks to goals from Shearing (2), Hurd (2) &
Flaherty, Boswell & Foulkes scored for CUSA. Oyster Legion made the journey to SC Kelvdedon
Res and went back to Mersea Island three points better off after their 4-1 victory. Rutter (2), Cope
& Sayer got the goals for the Oystermen, Gage got the Kelvedon goal. Bayern Monkwick beat AFC
Pegasus Res 4-3, Campbell, Dalziel, Murrells & Hallett scored for the Bayerns, Sadler (2) and
Harrison were on target for Pegasus. Doverston & Colne Star played out a 2-2 draw, Mann got
both for Doverston, Gridley & Dowding scored for Colne Star.
Top scorers in Division Two were Botolphs who racked up eight in their 8-3 win over FC Straws.
Hampson (2), Andrade (2), Wright (2), Kelly & Neill were all on target for Botolphs, Smith, Clark &
Jackson all scored for the Straws. Four from Clarke & a brace for Sotts saw Revolution take the
points as they beat Northgate Athletic 6-1. Hockett got the solitary 'gate goal. Borussia
Thorpmund beat Quayside 6-0 with goals from Gilmore (3), Boyce, Hammond & Claxton. The last
game in this section saw FC Byair & AFC Lexden share the points in a 2-2 draw. Little got both
for Byair and Lexden tied it up with strikes from Bleck & Watson.
A bit more low scoring in Division Three ... an Ivan Stanmore hat-trick sent Elmstead Athletic to a
win over Allstars who had Chapla & Price on target. Tolleshunt Darcy beat Feering Utd 2-1 with
goals from King & Parry, Price was on target for Feering. Ramsey Res & FC Prettygate shared the
points with a 2-2 draw, Nea got both for Ramsey, Taverner & Burrows were on target for
Prettygate. The last game in this division was somewhat of a rarity in the Sunday League as
Polstead and Newtown Rovers played out a nil-nil draw !!
In Division Four Corecalona beat Newtown Res 8-1 with goals from Bullman (2), Pennycuick (2),
Taylor, Newcombe, Caley & Hall, James got the consolation. St Edmunds Res beat Wivenhoe Old
Boys 7-1 with goals from Southgate (2), O'Neill (2), Allen, Walters & Wilson. AFC Colchester also
recorded their second win in two beating Real BTS Res 4-2. Bethell (2), Walsham & Pushman got
the AFC goals, Dilliway got both for Real. Tolleshunt Darcy Res & Feering Utd Res drew 3-3, the
Darcy goals coming from Chapman (2) & Cutmore, Spencer got a hat-trick for Feering.
Top scorers of the day were Tempest in Division Five who put thirteen past Sporting Colchester.
Getting their names on the Tempest scoresheet were Joe Sheekey (4), Harding (4), Grimes (2),
Bass (2) & Sam Sheekey. Clarendon beat Tiptree Jobserve 6-2, Karolchyle (2), Martin, Stokes,
Kemble & Barr got the goals there, with Williamson & Curnick replying for Tiptree. CBC Alresford
took on Chappel & Wakes Colne Res but it was Chappel who took the points, winning out 4-3
thanks to goals from Harrison, Norfolk, Baines & Clayton. Colchester Utd Deaf drew 4-4 with
Athletico Layer. W.Sadler (2), G.Sadler & an OG gave Athletico their share of the points.

Into week three and in the Premier Division it was Bayern Monkwick who were the only side to
record a home win this morning. A high-scoring encounter with Chappel & Wakes Colne saw the
Bayerns come out on top 6-4 with goals from Cooper (3), Richer (2) & Brooke. Alleston, Lee, Cant
& Jeckells were on target for Chappel. AFC Pegasus beat Real BTS 3-1 with a Johnson brace and
one from Higgins, Price consoled BTS. Tollegion beat Ramsey Utd 1-0 with a goal from McMillan
while Highwoods Foxash beat FCB by the same scoreline, Gill the scorer for Highwoods.
In Division One AFC Pegasus Res beat Oyster Legion 6-3. Willoughby (2), Doig, Harrison, Clark &
Hayward scored for Pegasus, Gibbons (2) and Eden scored for Oyster. CUSA beat SC Kelvedon
Res 4-0 with goals from Foulkes (2), Blaxall & Jackson. Pitchbury & St Edmunds shared the
pooints in their 2-2 draw, Shearing & Hird on target for the Saints. Colne Star & Bayern
Monkwick Res drew 5-5, Parker (3) & Allen (2) were the Bayern scorers.
Into Division Two and AFC Lexden took all three points at home to Revolution, beating the
visitors 3-0 thanks to goals from Brown, J.Buda & Major. FC Straws drew 2-2 with Borussia
Thorpmund, Clarke & Smith got the goals for Straws, Gilmore & Boyce replied for Thorpmund.
Botolphs continued their good start with a 5-0 win at Northgate Athletic, Andrade, Kelly, Mallack,
Budd & Hansen got the goals. The last game in this section saw FC Byair beat Quayside 10-1
with goals from Juby (3), Little (2), Stephenson, Norman, Hammarton, Davis and Burge, the
Quayside goal came from Hunting, but this game was abandoned after 75 minutes so the result
will have to go to the League Committee for ratification.
In Division Three, Newtown Rovers beat Ramsey Utd Res 4-2. Nicklin (2), Davis & Dale got the
goals for Newtown, Good & Glover replied for Ramsey. FC Prettygate came out on top against
Allstars, the scores were tied two apiece with goals from Love and an OG for Prettygate, Chapler &
Frost for Allstars until a last-gasp goal from Wye won it for Prettygate. Elmstead Athletic beat
Feering Utd 4-3, Howe (2), Burdett & Everett gave Elmstead the points, Pride (2) & Irons got the
Feering goals. Tolleshunt Darcy beat Polstead 4-0, Aves got two and Tiffin & King also got
themselves on the scoresheet.
In Division Four, Corecalona beat Feering Res 8-1, Fisher got the Feering consolation. AFC
Colchester won big again this week, beating Newtwon Res 8-0. On target for AFC this week were
Bethell (3), Norton, Ekins, Dyer, Flynn & Clover. St Edmunds Res won bigger, beating Stone
Island 12-0. A goal from Stanhope was enough to give Athletico Colchester the points in their
match with Real BTS Res.
In Division Five, Colchester Utd Deaf beat Tiptree Jobserve 2-0, thanks to strikes from Green &
Cordell. Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat Clarendon 4-2. Harris, Brazier, Lime & Dobson got
the goals for Chappel, Martin & Johnson were the Clarendon names on the scoresheet. Sporting
Colchester & Tempest drew 3-3, Cattermole, Flynn & Reynolds scored for Sporting, Harding,
Sheekey & Ebacker scored for Tempest. Finally, Corecalona Res beat Athletico Layer 2-1 thanks
to Abed & Maltman, Everitt got the Athletico goal.

Week four and the first interruptions to the league programme for the Essex Sunday Cups - this
week, the preliminary rounds.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Cup, Bayern Monkwick Res played hosts to Stebbing and beat them
5-1 thanks to a Darren Allen hat-trick, one from Newman and one from Murrells.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy, Jim McInnes' AFC Phoenix Res beat Division Three rivals
Polstead 4-3 to take their spot in the first round proper against FC Byair. On target for Phoenix
were Bulworth, R.Thompson & J.Thompson, Bell, Bray & Chenery scored for Polstead. CBC
Alresford went to Woodham Athletic Res and came away winners after a 5-4 extra time victory. A
Brierley hat-trick & one each for Annass and Tracey saw CBC into the next round. Elsntead
Athletic also progress to the first round proper after they beat Wickham Royals 3-2 with goals
from Pryke, Everett & Serheunik.
Back to the league and in the Premier Division AFC Phoenix beat Bayern Monkwick 4-1 with
goals from Thorne (2), Woolgar & Walkley, Lark got the Bayerns goal. AFC Pegasus also won 4-1,
beating Ramsey Utd thanks to a Johnson hat-trick and an OG. Turner got the Ramsey
consolation. Real BTS took all three points on their travels as they beat Chappel & Wakes Colne
3-0, D Price (2) & Isom on target there. Highwoods Foxash & Tollegion played out a 0-0 draw.
In Division One Colne Star were top scorers, beating Oyster Legion 11-3. The Colne Star goals
came from Gridley (6), Cole (2), Hill, O'Hara & Cook, Eden (2) & Matthew were the Oystermen on
target. CUSA beat SC Kelvedon Res 3-1, Renton, Coghill & Lee got the goals, Haggett got one
back for Kelvedon. St Edmunds beat Pitchbury 1-0 thanks to another Shearing goal. Doverston
and AFC Pegasus Res drew 1-1, Knight got the Doverston goal, Pegasus equalised through
Thomas.
In Division Two FC Byair beat FC Straws 5-3, the goals coming from Hammarton (2), Winter,
Stephenson & Davis, Smith got a hat-trick for Straws. Goals from J.Buda & Mason gave AFC
Lexden the points as they beat Borussia Thorpmund 2-1, Ribchester got the Borussia goal. An
Andrade hat-trick, Kelly (2) & Milsom gave Botolphs a 6-0 win at home to Northgate Athletic.
Revolution beat Quayside 6-4, Drinkwater (2), Minter (2), Wilmin & Clarke scored for Revolution,
Wood (2) & Burrow (2) scored for Quayside.
Into Division Three, Tolleshunt Darcy beat Newtown Rovers 3-2. Tiffin, Coates & Whybrow got
the Darcy goals while Anderson & Ollie were on target for Newtown. Allstars beat Ramsey Res 54, Chapler, Price, Murphy, Brown & an OG gave Allstars the points, Nea (2), White & Glover
scored for Ramsey. FC Prettygate beat Feering Utd in a game of three penalties. Bond scored his
for Prettygate but Eastaugh was the Prettygate hero, saving both Feering spot kicks to ensure his
side took the points.
Corecalona beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 13-1 in Division Four. The Corecalona goalscorers were
Bullmore (4), Harsini (3), Caley (2), Taylor, Cheeseworth, Gilly & Scordas. St Edmunds Res did it
to Stone Island again this week, beating them 12-1 this time. On target for the Saints were Craig
(3), Walters (2), Southgate (2), Machin (2), Linnane, O'Neill & Wilson. Fergie got the last minute
consolation for Stone Island. AFC Colchester beat Wivenhoe Old Boys 3-0, goals coming from the
Bethells, J & L and one from Hill. Feering Utd Res beat Newtown Res, a hat-trick from Spencer
and one from Butcher, Fisher & Collick gave them the 6-0 win. Athletico Colchester beat Real
BTS Res 1-0, White getting the all-important goal in that one.
In Division Five, Tempest beat Athletico Layer 9-2; J.Sheekey, O'Brien & Harding all got two,
S.Sheekey, Perrin & Wass all scored one, Enson & Sadler scored for Layer. Tiptree Jobserve got
an away win at Corecalona Res coming home on the back of a 5-0 win. Parfitt (2), Williamson,
Curnick & Flatts got the goals. Calrendon won the beat of five goals match at home to Highwoods
Foxash Res. Kemble (2) & Karochyle got the Clarendon goals, Sutherland & Gook scored for
Highwoods. Colchester Utd Deaf beat Sporting Colchester 1-0, David Lee got the winner !

The first round of the Thornavon League Cup took pride of place on the fixtures list for this
morning's games and the day saw twelve matches played to a conclusion.
Feering Utd beat Northgate Athletic 4-0 with goals from Stone (2), Price & Collett. Botolphs beat
Sporting Colchester 6-0 thanks to Hampson (2), Andrade, Kelly, Wright & Clarke. Borussia
Thorpmund went down 3-4 at home to Revolution who had Gomez, Drinkwater, Paterson &
Webber to thank for putting them into round two.
Quayside beat Athletico Layer 3-0, Ball getting two and Wood the third. AFC Lexden won on their
travels, beating CBC Alresford 3-0 thanks to goals from Mason, Brown & an OG, while Wivenhoe
Old Boys beat FC Straws 2-1 with goals from Freeman & Hyde.
FC Prettygate came out on top against Athletico Colchester by a single goal - either an OG from
White or a goal from Wye - take your pick !! Stone Island beat Newtown Rovers 2-1, Fergie &
Chief scored for the Islanders, Glenister replied for Newtown and Tempest beat Tolleshunt Darcy
2-0 with goals from Harding & Digby.
Those were the games that finished in normal time, Polstead and AFC Colchester went to extra
time at 2-2, AFC came out on top 4-2, goals coming from Hill, Close, Flynn & Bethell, Ewan &
Bray scored for Polstead.
Corecalona & FC Byair drew 1-1 after 120 minutes, Auty for Corecalona, Swabey for Byair, but it
was Byair who came out on top in the penalty shootout, winning through 7-6. Tiptree Jobserev &
Clarendon also went to penalties, drawing 3-3 with Nairn (2) and Bonnick scoring for Tiptree &
Martin, Barr & Karolchyk for Clarendon, the game went to spotkicks and it was Tiptree who made
it through 4-3.
In the Premier Division AFC Phoenix beat Chappel & Wakes Colne 7-1. Gergory (3), Thorne (2),
Walkley & McIlwaine got the goals with Davis getting the Chappel consolation. Ramsey Utd Res
beat SC Kelvedon 3-2; Hawkins, Turner & Andrews on target for the victors, McQuiston & Barrett
for Kelvedon. Tollegion & Bayern Monkwick played out a 1-1 draw, Steeple scoring for Tollegion,
Lark for the Bayerns.
Into Division One, Colne Star stay top as they beat CUSA 4-1 with goals from Cole (2), Gridley &
Meadows. Foulkes got the CUSA consolation. St Edmunds are still right there though, beating
SC Kelvedon Res 5-0. Ferris (2), Shearing, Cannon & Spires gave them the points. Goals from
Allen, Dawson, Newman & Campbell gave Bayern Monkwick Res a 4-0 win over Doverston. AFC
Pegasus Res took the lead with a Johnson goal but Hodson equalised for Pitchbury near the end
to share the points.
No Division Two matches today so into Division Three and Elmstead Athletic stay top, beating
AFC Phoenix Res 4-0 with goals from Serheunik (2), Dowde & Howe. Allstars racked up a tidy 61 win as they beat Ramsey Utd Res. A Brown hat-trick and one each for Thompson, Murphy &
Buckley gave Allstars the points, Nea consoled Ramsey.
Real BTS Res beat St Edmunds Res 2-1 in Division Four. Dilliway got both for Real while Craig
scored for St Edmunds. Newtown Rovers Res got their first win in quite a while as they beat
Tolleshunt Darcy 6-2 thanks to a trio of braces (?) from Hewitt, Sadler & Hood.
In only game in Division Six, Colchester Utd Deaf beat Chappel & Wakes Colne Res 4-2. Francis
& Szcepansk got a couple each for Colchester, Dobson & Harrison were on target for Chappel.

Three Premier Division sides took their place in the first round of the Essex Sunday Premier Cup
first round this morning, with all three playing at home.
AFC Phoenix beat Hawkwell Athletic from Rochford 4-2 thanks to goals from Woolgar (2),
Townrow & Walkley, while Real BTS faced Harberts from Harlow won 3-2 with goals from
Braddon, Shaw & Smithen. Tollegion took on Upshire from Waltham Abbey and were on level
terms at the end of ninety minutes but alas a goal in the extra period sent Tollegion out of the
competition 3-4. On target for Tollegion were Hope, Payne & Keith.
In The Premier Division AFC Pegasus beat Highwoods Foxash 3-2, Johnson and two own-goals by
the same Highwoods defender gave Pegasus the points, Highwoods had Macklin & King on target.
Bayern Monkwick beat Ramsey Utd 2-1, with Brook & Malecki getting their names on the
scoresheet, Lewis got the Ramsey goal.
Into Division One and St Edmunds got a win on their travels to Mersea Island as they beat Oyster
Legion 3-1 with goals from Shearing, Spires & Wilson. Legion had Eaden on target. Pitchbury
took the lead against Colne Star through Easton and held on until 74 minutes but the Star
finished strongly and took the points with a 5-1 victory thanks to Joseph (3), Auger & Gridley.
SC Kelvedon Res got their first ponts of the season beating AFC Pegasus Res 4-2. Taking the lead
with a Hughes hat-trick Kelvedon looked home and dry but two goals from Savill & Harrison
brought Pegasus back in with a shout but Cole made sure for Kelvedon in the last minute.
Doverston and Bayern Monkwick Res drew 2-2 down at Ramsey Rec Horner & Passmore scored
for Doverston, Willett & Hallas for the Bayerns.
In Division Two Borussia Thorpmund beat Northgate Athletic 5-1 with goals from the Cutmores
(Steve & Stuart), Creus, Hammond and Lewis, the 'gate were consoled by Alders. Botolphs and
Quayside drew 1-1, Fitton on target for Botolphs, Ewells for Quayside. AFC Lexden beat FC
Straws 2-1 with Bray getting a brace, Hammond got the Straws goal. FC Byair beat Revolution 52, Minter & Midwinter scored for Revolution.
Tolleshunt Darcy beat current Division Three leaders Elmstead 1-0 thanks to Cross while
Newtown Rovers won away at AFC Phoenix Res 4-0 with goals from Troy (2), Bailey & HowardKing. FC Prettygate went down 3-2 at Feering Utd, Taylor & Long scored for Prettygate while
Polstead & Ramsey Res played out a 0-0 draw.
Top scorers of the day came from Division Four with St Edmunds Res rattling fourteen past
Newtown Rovers Res. The scorers were Craig (6), Boylan (4), Walters, Wilson & Machin.
Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Feering Utd Res 5-0. On target for the Old Boys were R.Freeman (3),
T.Freeman & Page. Athletico Colchester beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 3-0, the goals coming from
Chilver, Smith & Wilshire - the Athletico keeper also saved a Darcy penalty. Goals from Bethell
(2), Hise (2) & Ekins sent AFC Colchester to a 5-3 win over Stone Island who scored through
Kilgannon, Caine & an OG. Corecalona beat Real BTS Res 8-1, Caley (3), Cheeseworth (2), Todd,
Halls & Auty got the Corecalona goals, Sheffield consoled BTS.
Into Division Five and another high-scroing game saw Highwoods Foxash Res put eleven past
Chappel & Wakes Colne Res. The Highwoods scorers were Maxine (3), Burridge (2), Griggs (2),
Coward (2), Bell & McGrath. Goals from Sadler & Starkins gave Athletico Layer a 2-0 win over
Sporting Colchester. CBC Alresford & Tiptree Jobserve drew 1-1, Brierley scored for CBC.
Clarendon played hosts to Tempest and scored four but that wasn't enough as Tempest ran out
winners 6-4. On target for Clarendon were Aylin, Corrington, Kemble & Karolchyk. Colchester
Utd Deaf beat Corecalona Res 3-0 with goals from Francis, Mirowski & an OG.

The second round of the League Knockout Cup this morning saw eight teams looking for a spot in
the third round draw, the time of this competition when the 'big boys' join in !!
Allstars took on Tiptree Jobserve and took their place in the bag with a 4-1 win. Price, Chapler,
Brown & Shutt got the goals that saw them through, Curnick got the Tiptree goal. AFC Lexden
travelled to Ferring Utd and booked their place with a 3-2 win, thanks to two from Mihai and one
from Mason. Botolphs went into the next round at the expense of AFC Colchester by a 6-2
scoreline. Hampson (3), Andrade (2) & Wright got the goals, Ekins & Norton consoled AFC. In
the last match of the round, Tempest brushed past Elmstead Athletic 6-1 thanks to strikes from
Sheekey, Humm & Harding.
Back to the league and AFC Pegasus stay top of the Premier Division with their 5-0 at Tollegion.
On target for Pegasus were Sculley, Clarke, Renton, Higgins & Johnson. AFC Phoenix are still
right there in second spot as they won 3-2 at home to Highwoods Foxash. Thorne (2) and Walkey
gave Phoenix the points, Ross & Gill scored for Highwoods who are still without a win. SC
Kelvedon got their first points of the league campaign as they beat Ramsey Utd 2-1 with goals
from Deckert and Carter, Stockley getting the consolation and Chappel & Wakes Colne also put

they beat Oyster Legion 5-1 in the day's early kickoff on Mersea Island. Goals from Boswell (2),
Foulkes, Woods & Blaxall gave CUSA the points, Matthews was the Oysterman on target.
Doverston are up there too, they beat SC Kelvedon Res 3-0, two from King and one from Cook
saw them to victory.
With Botolphs playing in the cup, FC Byair had the chance to close the gap at the top of Division
Two and they did so with a 3-1 win away at Revolution. Juby, Davis & Brady got the goals that
put Byair eaual top on points, second on goal difference. Paterson got the Revolution goal.
Borussia Thorpmund & FC Straws played out a 2-2 draw, Hudson & Oldhamstead scored for
Borussia, Smith & MacCaron for Straws.
In Division Three AFC Phoenix moved off the bottom after they beat Polstead 3-0 with goals from
Elustead (2) & Killen. Newtown Rovers & FC Prettygate played out a 0-0 draw.
In Division Four Corecalona go clear at the top after they put fifteen past Newtown Rovers Res.
The Corecalona scorers were Caley & Taylor (4 each), Napolitano (2), Cheeseworth, Todd, Hall ,
Gillies & an og. Wivenhow Old Boys beat Stone Island 6-4 with goals from R.Freeman (2), Page
(2), T.Freeman & Hyde, Johnston (2), Fergie & Caine scored for the Islanders. Two from Spender
and one from Niall gave Feering Utd Res a win at Athletico Colchester who had Ashby & Smith on
target. Real BTS Res played hosts to Tolleshunt Darcy Res and sent the visitors home on the end
of a 7-1 defeat. Scoring for BTS were Dilliway (2), Willetts (2), Gooding (2) & Whitnell.
In division Five Colchester Deaf are top of the table after they beat Chappel & Wakes Colne Res 41. Cordell (2), McKoy & Garbhbhrczyk got the goals for Colchester, Raisor consoled C&WC.
Highwoods Foxash Res also won 4-1, they beat Corecalona Res. Wall, Griggs, Macphee & Coward
got the goals for Highwoods with Serheunik replying for Corecalona. The lkast game of the day
was Sporting Colchester agauinst Athletico Layer and the points went to Athletico as they won by
a solitary Boyton goal.

More County Cup action this week as both the Junior Cup & Trophy enter the first round proper.
In the Junior Cup, Bayern Monkwick Res beat Vorranova 5-1 thanks to a Murrell hat-trick and
one each for Dalziel & Hallis. Colne Star went down at home to Dengie Utd 3-2, Gridley &
Bennett got the goals there, while AFC Pegasus Res travelled to Baddow Spartak and came home
on the back of a 4-0 defeat.
In The Junior Trophy, AFC Lexden beat Marconi Leisure 4-3 with goals from Bleck (2), Mason &
Mihai. FC Byair beat AFC Phoenix Res 6-1, Juby (2), Davis, Hammarton, Stephenson & an OG
saw them through, Brewer consoled Phoenix. Real BTS Res travelled to Chelmsford to take on
Essex Police. The game went to extra time with Gooding & Whitnell scoring for Real but the
Police 'nicked' it 4-1 after a 'shoot out'. CBC Alresford needed extra time against Witham Phoenix
but came out on top 4-3, goals coming from Fitton (2), Paddock & Mowbray. Newtown Rovers
went down 4-1 at Braintree Town's ground as they travelled to face Braintree Supporters, Dale
got the Newtown consolation, but better news for Elmstead Athletic who beat Uplands Rangers 50. FC Straws secured their place in round two as they beat Onley Arms 4-2 with goals from
Davey (2), Hammond & Clark.
Back to the league and AFC Pegasus continued their good start to the Premier Division season
with a 6-1 against Bayern Monkwick. On target for Pegasus were Bloomfield, Macca, Webb,
Johnson, G.Higgins & B.Higgins. Lund got the Bayerns goal. AFC Phoenix are still there though
as they won 2-0 away against Chappel & Wakes Colne. Walkley & Thorne got the goals for
Phoenix. Real BTS beat Tollegion 4-0 at home, Willetts (2), Treliving & Shaw got the goals that
gave BTS the points. SC Kelvedon beat Highwoods Foxash 2-0 with goals from Harvey & a
Willson penalty.
In Division One Oyster Legion racked up double figures as they played hosts to seven-man SC
Kelvedon Res, winning 10-2. Getting their names on the Legion scoresheet were Matthews (3),
Gibbons (2), Bennett (2), Rutter (2) & Sayer. Hales & Gage scored for Kelvedon. St Edmunds
went down 5-2 at home to Doverston, Potter (2), Knight (2) & Farmer scored for Doverston, Wilson
& Flaherty got the Saints goals.
Division Two had the highest scorers of the day as Borussia Thorpmund beat Northgate Athletic
12-2. On target for Borussia were Gilmore (3), Davis (2), Boyce (2), Oldhamstead (2), Hammond,
Rudson & Steven Cutmore, Whybrow & Cutts scored for Northgate. Revolution beat QWuayside
5-0, the goals there coming from Fox (2), Smith (2) & Wilmin.
Allstars recorded their third win of the season beating bottom side Polstead 6-1 at Witham.
Chenery got the Polstead goal. A solitary Stone strike gave Feering Utd the points as they beat
Ramsey Utd Res. FC Prettygate went one up through Bond but had to share the points with
Tolleshunt Darcy as they came back through either an OG or a Tiffin goal (depending on who you
talk to !)
Corecalona continued their winning ways in Division Four as they beat Feering Utd Res 9-1.
Caley (2), Gillis (2), Dillon, Napolitano, Cheeseworth, Pennycuick & Todd got the goals, Fisher
consoled Feering. Tolleshunt Darcy and Newtown Rovers Res drew 2-2 down at Darcy Rec,
Kennedy & Hewitt got the Newtown goals. Athletico Colchester beat Stone Island 6-0, thanks to
Stanhope (2), Kettle, Lissimore, Shelley & Oliver.
In Division Five Chapple & Wakes Colne Res beat Corecalona Res 4-1 with goals from Lines (2),
Manning & Jones. Dillon scored for Corecalona. Goals from Sutherland & MacPhee gave
Highwoods Foxash Res the points as they beat Sporting Colchester 2-0. A Lee-Martin hat-trick
and one from Barr gave Clarendon the victory as they beat Athletico Layer 4-1. Boyson got the
Athletico goal.

Into November and the weather this morning certainly reminded us all as the heavens opened
and the rain came down. All but one game made it through though, only Feering Utd Res v
Wivenhoe Old Boys succumbing to the rain.
Real BTS had their second round match in the Essex Sunday Premier Cup and they won through,
beating Medhurst 3-1 with goals from Smithen, Price & Joy.
All the rest were league matches so in the Premier Division AFC Pegasus' 7-3 away win at AFC
Phoenix extends their lead at the top of the table. Golas from G.Higgins (2), Springett (2), Curtis,
Johnson & Turner gave Pegasus the points, Woolgar, McIlwaine & Walkley scored for Phoenix.
Ramsey Utd beat Chappel & Wakes Colne 3-2 thanks to goals from Rudkin, Andrews and a late
winner from Mucklow, Vory & Sharpe scored for Chappel. SC Kelvedon beat Highwoods Foxash
7-2 thanks to Harvey (3), Hudson, Willson & the Barretts Scott & Shaun. Wild & Morris scored
for Highwoods.
In Division One there was no game for leaders Colne Star so Doverston took advantage to close
the gap by winning 3-1 away at CUSA. Horner, King & Potter got the goals with Foulkes
consoling the 'supporters'. St Edmunds were in with a chance of going equal top but they fell
down on their travels to Bayern Monkwick Rss who won that game 4-2 with goals from Hallen (2),
Francis & Newley. Chamberlain & Browning were on target for the Saints. SC Kelvedon Res
doubled their points for the season with a 6-3 win away at AFC Pegasus Res. Gage (3), Hughes
(2) & Janes gave them the points, Pegasus goals came from Thomas, Mort & Harrison, who left
the field of play in an ambulance so best wishes to him. Pitchbury got their first win of the
season as they beat Oyster Legion 7-1. Hodson got five and Lother two, Matthews got the goal for
the Oystermen.
Another good win for Botolphs keeps them just top of Division Two as they beat Quayside 7-1 this
morning. Andrade (3), Pasch (2), Hansen & Neill got the goals, Brown consoled the Quaysiders.

from Creus (2), Gilmore, Hudson & Boyce. AFC Lexden are up to third after they beat Northgate
Athletic 9-0. On target for Lexden were K.Buda (2), Mihai (2), Bleck (2), Brown, Mason & an OG.
Revolution also won today, they beat FC Straws 2-1, goals from Gomez & Fox gave them the
points, Smith scored for the Straws.
Elmstead Athletic go back top of Division Three on goal difference, helped by their 6-0 win over
bottom side Polstead. The goals came from Pryke (2), Claydon Langley and 'Biscuits' (2) !! FC
Prettygate sit in second after their 3-2 win against AFC Phoenix Res. Love, Bond & Taylor scored
for the 'gate, Brewer & Killen for Phoenix. Newtown Rovers & Allstars playerd out a 1-1 draw,
Nicklin got the Newtown goal.
Corecalona's eighth win out of eight puts them nine points clear in Division Four. They beat
closest rivals AFC Colchester 8-0 with goals from Halls (4), Cheeseworth, Gillis, Scordis & Dillon.
Athletico Colchester closed the gap on second to goal difference after they came out on top
against Newtown Res. Goals from Shelley, Lissimore & Stanhope saw them to a 3-2 win, Hewitt
& Dees got the Newtown goals. St Edmunds Res & Real BTS Res drew one apiece, Boyland
scored for St Edmunds, Stevens for BTS.
Tempest are certainly putting the goals away in Division Six and that is what has taken them top
of the table this week. A 10-2 victory over Corecalona Res puts them on 'plus 34'. On target were
Humm (3), Sheekey (2), Harding, Perrin, Grimes, Adams & the other Sheekey ! Hancock &
'Peanut' scored for Corecalona. Last week's leaders Colchester Utd Deaf went down 4-1 at CBC
Alresford, Fitton (3) & Brierley gave CBC the points in that one. Highwoods Foxash Res are in

A lot better weather-wise this week on Remembrance Sunday with three of our top clubs
competing for a place in the third round of the Essex Sunday Premier Cup.
AFC Pegasus took on Daen Ingas at Stanway School and got their ball in the third round bag
after a 2-1 win, the goals coming from Springett & Johnson. Unfortunately, the other two
Colchester Sunday League representatives, AFC Phoenix & Bayern Monkwick both went down by
two goals to nil, Phoenix to Nicholas Wybacks & the Bayerns to Alnwick.
In the Premier Division Ramsey Utd beat Real BTS by the odd goal in seven, coming from 3-1
down to win 4-3. Tye (2), Palmer & Andrews got the goals for Ramsey, Isom, Willett & Barton
scored for BTS. Tollegion & SC Kelvedon played out a 4-4 draw, Seaborne (2), Hunwick & Bright
scored for the 'legion who led 3-1, Kelvedon fought back to go in front with goals from McQuiston
(2), Harvey & Willson but Tollegion tied in up in the final minutes.
Four high-scoring games in Division One, St Edmunds beat AFC Pegasus Res 7-2 with goals from
Shearing (3), Flaherty (2), Cannon & Wilson, Moore & Thomas scored for Pegasus. Colne Star
beat CUSA 7-1, Barrett (2), Gridley (2), O'Hara, Salter and Ashley Sauka got the Colne Star goals,
CUSA had Boswell on target. Doverston beat Oyster Legion 9-3, Horner (3), King, Knight, Potter,
Farmer, Cook & Passmore got the goals, Rutter (2) & Matthews were the Oystermen on target.
Bayern Monkwick Res beat SC Kelvedon Res 6-0 with a Dawson hat-trick, two for Murrels and an
OG.
Into Division Two and it was away wins all the way. FC Byair beat FC Straws 3-0 with goals from
Davis (2) & Winter. AFC Lexden beat Botolphs 4-1, Mihai, Mason, Perreira & an OG gave Lexden
the points, Hampton got the Botolphs goal. Borussia Thorpmund beat Quayside 7-0 with goals
from Stuart Cutmore (2), Tompkins (2), Creus, Steve Cutmore & Boyce. Revolution were top
scorers though as they beat Northgate Athletic 13-4. The goals for Revolution came from Smith
(5), Fox (4), Minter (3) & Fieldings.
In Division Three Elmstead stay top as they beat Polstead for the second time in a fortnight, this
time 8-1. Wells got the Polstead goal. FC Prettygate won away at AFC Phoenix Res 3-0, Bond (2)
& an OG the names on the scoresheet there. Ramsey Utd Res & Newtown Rovers drew 1-1, Nea
scored for Ramsey, Logan for Newtown. A brace from Chapler and one from Buckley saw Allstars
to a 3-1 win over Tolleshunt Darcy.
In Division Four two hat-tricks, one for Machin & one for Wilson gave St Edmunds Res a 6-2 win
away at Tolleshunt Darcy Res. AFC Colchester also won away, beating Stone Island 4-0, Ekins &
Bethell getting two apiece. Corecalana beat Athletico Colchester 5-1, the goals there coming from
Halls (2), Todd, Napolitano & Newcombe. Samuels got the Athletico consolation. Newtown Res
went down 5-2 at home to Real BTS Res who had Gooding (4) & Richards on the scoresheet,
James & Hood were the Newtown players on target.
Clarendon were the top scorers in Division Five this morning as they beat Corecalona Res 8-1.
Lee-Martin (2), Scott, Stocks, Tiffin, Karolchyk, Kemble & an OG gave Clarendon the points,
Dillon consoled Corecalona. Colchester Utd Deaf beat CBC Alresford 4-2 with a brace each for

saw Tempest to a 3-1 win against Highwoods Foxash Res who had Nixon on target. Chappel &
Wakes Colne Res beat Athletico Layer 3-2, the goals for Chappel came from Jones, Norfolk &
Dobson, Sadler & Cross scored for Layer. Tiptree Jobserve won by the odd one in three at
Sporting Colchester, Mann & Eve gave Tiptree the points there.

The torrential rains over the last few days took their toll on the Colchester Sunday League this
morning with matches off reaching double figures as we approached kick off time.
Eight teams were due to play in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy second round and FC Byair
were first through to round three as they beat Braintree Supporters by a solitary Stephenson
strike down at Old Heath Rec. In the all-Colchester Sunday League clash AFC Colchester from
Division Four took on Division Two side AFC Lexden and came out on top after a penalty shootout. The game was tied 2-2 after extra time with Mihai & Mason scoring for Lexden and Bethell &
Close on target for AFC Colchester and they went on to take the tie 3-1 on spot-kicks. Botolphs
travelled to Burnham to take on Dutch but unfortunately went down 10-0.
In the League Knockout Cup, CUSA beat Pitchbury 4-2 with goals from Keatley, Foulkes, Quinlan
& Boswell. Stone Island played hosts to Premier side AFC Phoenix but went down 6-1. Thorne
(3), Gregory (2) & Walkley got the goals for Phoenix, Sainty got the Stone goal. Revolution from
Division Two did beat Premier opposition as they knocked out Ramsey Utd by 2-0 with Fox
getting both. Another Premier side suffered at the hands of a lower division side as they lost 2-0
away at Tempest who had Harding to thank for both goals. Doverston beat Colchester Utd Deaf
4-1 with goals for Knight (2), Potter & King, Cordell got the consolation.
In what remained of the league fixture list, Division Three saw Polstead get their first win of the
season as they beat Tolleshunt Darcy 6-4 up at Stoke-by-Nayland. On target for Polstead were
Bell (3), Bray, Romano & Wells.
St Edmunds Res beat Wivenhoe Old Boys 4-0 in Division Four thanks to a Southgate hat-trick &
Wilson's one.

Well, thankfully the rain held off for most of the matches this morning, with only those going to
extra time suffering the downpour.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy Second round, FC Straws beat Terling Social 4-3 thanks to
goals from Clark, Nash, Davey & captain Andy Kenny got the winner in the last minute. CBC
Alresford went to penalties with Baddow Res, while Elmstead Athletic went down 2-0 away at
Burntwood. Tiptree Jobserve beat Essex Police 3-2 with goals from Parfitt (2) & Curnick.
In the first round of the John Fowler Memorial Cup goals from Bleck and Mason saw AFC Lexden
go through 2-1 against Feering Utd, Irons got their goal. Botolphs beat FC Prettygate 7-1 with
goals from Andrade (2), Pash, Hampson, Kelly, Wright & Clarke, Long got the Prettygate goal.
Newtown Rovers & Northgate Athletic went to extra time at Old Heath Rec but a goal from Nicklin
took Newtown through. Polstead played hosts to Quayside but it was the visitors who went
through, winning 2-1 with goals from Brown & Deal, Hamilton got the Polstead oal. Tolleshunt
Darcy beat FC Byair 5-3 - Muslin and the Little boys (Dan & Daryl) scored for Byair, Tiffin got
two, Mills, Chapman & Aves scored for Darcy.
Back to the league and AFC Pegasus continued their run in the Premier Division as they beat

for Highwoods, Richer & Walker for the Bayerns.
Top scorers of the day were Colne Start who put 16 past Oyster Legion without reply. On target
were Gridley (3), Auger (3), Salter (2), Joseph (2), Hill, Bloss, O'Hara, Pike, Dowding & Burgess.
SC Kelvedon Res beat Pitchbury 7-4. Morris, Goodey & Gage all got two and Windard one for
Kelvedon, Wade (2), Hodson & Hopley scored for Pitchbury. AFC Pegasus Res beat CUSA away 52, a Thompson hat-trick, Thomas & Mort gave them the points, Boswell & Blaxall scored for

Into Division Four and Corecalona travelled to Athletico Colchester and went home on the back of
a 10-0 victory. Pennycuick (2), Caley (2), OG (2), Harsini, Cheeseworth, Napolitano & Newcombe
all got their names on the scoresheet. Wivenhoe Old Boys went down 2-1 at home to Real BTS
Res, Gooding & Stephens were on target for Real, Barber scored for the Old Boys. A Fisher
penalty was cancelled out by a 30 yd chip from Lee as AFC Colchester and Feering Utd Res drew
1-1, while Stone Island beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 6-3. Fergie (3), Irish & Joffy scored for Stone.
In Division Five, Highwoods Foxash Res beat Corecalona Res 3-2. Macphinn (2) & Greek scored

Seven games didn't survive the rain this morning but all five of the remaining third round
matches in the League Knockout Cup did reach a conclusion. AFC Lexden beat SC Kelvedon 2-0
with goals from Minter & K.Buda and that sees them through to face Allstars in their fourth
round as they beat Highwoods Foxash 6-2. The Allstars goals came from Chapler (2), Shave,
Harper, Murphy & Price, Morris got both for Highwoods. The current holders, AFC Pegasus also
went through as they beat Quayside 5-1 at Stanway School. On target for Pegasus were Higgins
(2), Coffee, Scully & Springett, Brown scored for Quayside. Pegasus will take on the team they
beat in the final last year Real BTS as they beat FC Byair today 4-2 after extra time. Isom,
Willetts, Barton & Richards scored for BTS, Brady & Juby for Byair. FC Prettygate beat Chappel
& Wakes Colne 6-2 after extra time to book their fourth round spot against Colne Star, Love (3),
Hunt, Long & Fletcher got the goals for the 'gate, Meadows & Rose scored for Chappel.
In Division One St Edmunds closed the gap on second place with a 7-1 win over SC Kelvedon
Res. Flaherty (3), B.Wilson (2), S.Wilson & Parish got the goals for the Saints with Goodey scoring
for Kelvedon. Pitchbury & CUSA shared the points with a 4-4 draw, Hodson (2), Tomoroga &
Newly with an overhead kick scored for Pitchbury, Boswell (2), Sharpe & Renton scored for CUSA.
Both matches in Division Two were postponed so into Division Three where AFC Phoenix Res &
Ramsey Res drew 2-2. Glover & Jepson scored for Ramsey, Killen & Woolgar for Phoenix
(Woolgar from 35 yards !) Elmstead Athletic & Tolleshunt Darcy played out a 2-2 draw, Lewis &
Tiffin gave Darcy their share of the points, Double and 'someone else' scored for Elmstead.
In Division Four, Corecalona made it eleven out of eleven as they beat Wivenhoe Old Boys 7-1
with goals across the team coming from Taylor, Todd, Napolitano, Auty, Cheeseworth, Caley &
Gillis - which takes their total for the season to 97 goals !! Freeman scored the consolation for
the Old Boys. St Edmunds Res are still there in second as they beat Newtown Res 6-2 thanks to
goals from Wilson (2), O'Neil (2), Machin & West, Sadler got both for Newtown. Stone Island beat
Feering Utd Res 5-1, their goals coming from Wolton (2), Caney (2) & Chief while Spencer
consoled Feering. AFC Colchester beat Athletico Colchester 5-4 after a bit of a classic - Bethell (3)
& Ekins (2) gave AFC the points, Smith (2), Chilver & Ashbee scored for Athletico but they missed
two penalties at 2-0 up and had a man sent off.
In Dvision Five Tempest go top after they beat Athletico Layer 5-3. A hat-trick from Harding, one
from Humm and an OG saw them take the points, Yearling (2) & Chasen scored for Athletico.
Corecalona Res & Colchester Utd Deaf drew nil-nil.
Finally, Bayern Monkwick Res were representing the Colchester Sunday League in the Essex
Sunday Junior Cup this morning. A trip down to Chelmsford to take on Baddow Spartak saw a
very competitive match, but it was the Bayerns who came out on top and go into round three as
they won 1-0 with a goal from Francis.

Well, not a lot to write about this week as all but six games fell victim to the weather.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Cup, Real BTS beat AFC Pegasus 2-1 with goals from Holman &
Smithen.
Just one league cup match made it through and it was St Edmunds who took their place in the
next round of the League Knockout Cup as they beat CUSA 4-2. Wilson (2), Leech & Hird got the
goals that put the Saints in the bag - Boswell & Blaxall scored for CUSA.
In Division Four, Corecalona continued their perfect record as they beat 10-man AFC Colchester
6-1. Goals from Todd (2), Harsini, Caley, Newcombe and goalkeeper Trunks gave Corecalona
maximum points and took them over 100 goals for the season already. Walsham got the AFC
consolation. St Edmunds Res move three points clear in second spot as they beat Feering Utd
Res 8-2. Craig & Wilson got a hat-trick each, West & Machin got the other two for the Saints,
Fisher & George scored for Feering. Stone Island travelled to Newtown Rovers Res and nicked the
points with a last-minute winner. The scorers for Stone Island were Fergie & Johnston with two
each, Dees, James & Tokeley scored for Newtown.
The last match that made it was in Division Five and CBC Alresford beat Chappel & Wakes Colne

A good morning weather-wise made a change and only two games this week were called off due to
waterlogged pitches.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Cup, Bayern Monkwick Res beat Sunday Shrimpers Res 4-1 to take
their place in the fourth round. On target for the Bayerns were Newman, Dalziel, Hallan &
Francis.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy Third round, AFC Colchester beat Howbridge Res 3-2 with
goals from Norton & Bethell (2), his second coming in the last minute to win it !! FC Byair beat
Tiptreee Jobserve 5-1, their goals coming from Hammarton (2), Stephenson, Juby & an OG. FC
Straws travelled to CBC Alresford and won it in extra-time thanks to a Reynolds strike. Rigby
had scored for CBC and Nash for Straws in normal time.
The League Knockout Cup match between Real BTS and AFC Pegasus only made eleven minutes
before an injury that looks like a broken leg to one of the Pegasus boys saw him off to hospital
and the game abandoned. Best wishes to him from everyone involved in the Sunday League.
Into the John Fowler Memorial Cup First Round and Revolution hosted Elmstead Athletic, but
went out on penalties after the two sides were locked at two apiece after extra time. Fox & Smith
scored for Revolution, Robson & Langley for Elmstead. There were also a couple of second round
matches this morning, Borussia Thorpmund against Botolphs was called off last night but
Tolleshunt Darcy went through beating Quayside 8-2. Tiffin (3), Cross, Southern, King & Lewis
got the goals for Darcy.
Back to the league and in the Premier Division AFC Phoenix took the opportunity to close the gap
on leaders Pegasus with a 4-0 win at Bayern Monkwick. Townrow, Taylor, Greenley & Woolgar
(GK) scored the goals that put Phoenix just three points behind in second. SC Kelvedon are up to
third as they put nine past Chappel & Wakes Colne. Willson (5), Smith, Harvey, Hughes &
Barrett scored for Kelvedon. Highwoods Foxash got a must-needed win beating Ramsey Utd 2-1;
Charles got both for Highwoods, Kinch scored for Ramsey.
With Colne Star not in action this morning Doverston took their opportunity to go top of Division
One and they did it in style beating Oyster Legion 9-2. Mann (4), Knight (3), Horner & Passmore
were on target for Doverston, Eadon & Preston scored for Oyster. CUSA got a good win away at
AFC Pegasus Res, beating their hosts 5-2 with goals from Quinlan, Foulkes, Coghill, Boswell &
Sharpe. Thompson & Murrell scored for Pegasus.
Just one game in Division Two and it saw AFC Lexden move to the top of the table after they
comprehensively beat bottom side Northgate Athletic 14-0. The scorers for Lexden were Mihai (5),
Bray (2), Waylon (?) (2), Lewis, Minter, A.Buda, Mason & Watson.
In Division Three FC Prettygate go top as they beat Ramsey Utd Res 2-0 thanks to Long & Bond.
Feering Utd beat Polstead 3-0 with Stone getting all three and sending Polstead to the foot of the
table. Newtown Rovers & AFC Phoenix Res drew 3-3; a goal each for the Rymer boys Lee & Terry
and one for Davis put Newtown into a lead but Killen (2) & & Brewer tied it up for Phoenix.
In Division Four it was business as usual for Corecalona who top-scored again this week as they
put sixteen past Stone Island. On target for Corecalona this week were Taylor (5), Caley (3), Auty
(3), Todd, Harsini, Dillon, Cheeseworth & Gillis. Feering Utd Res beat Newtown Res 2-0 with
goals from Vaughan-Williams & Cole. Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 7-2;
Freeman (2), R.Hyde (2), Kemp, Roots & T.Hyde were the Old Boys on target.
Finally into Division Five and Tempest are still top as they beat Corecalona Res 1-0 thanks to a
Sheekey goal. Colchester Utd Deaf also got a win today beating Clarendon 2-0 with goals from
Summersgill & Francis. Athletico Layer beat Highwoods Foxash Res 3-0, the goals there coming
from Chambers (2) & Pride.

Not so much a roundup, more of a match report with only one game (as far as I know) getting
played this morning.
Tollegion played hosts to AFC Phoenix in the Premier Division but it was the visitors who took the
points with a 4-1 victory. On target for Phoenix this morning were Gregory (1) and the Walkleys Rick with two and Dave with one. Rollo got the Tollegion consolation.

At last, some games to report ....
Not many mind but there were goals aplenty in the three league games that did survive the
thawing snow and ice and subsequent waterlogged pitches.
In Division Three Elmstead Athletic played hosts to Newtown Rovers and took the lead four times
only to be beaten inside the last five minutes by the winner for Newtown substitute King. Getting
the other goals for Newtown were Rymer & Logan with two apiece.
In Division Four St Edmunds Res beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 9-1 thanks to a double hat-trick
from Craig, West (2) & Linnane, Parkin got the Darcy consolation. It was much the same story at
Feering as Feering Utd Res beat visitors AFC Colchester 10-1. Spencer got four, VaughanWilliams (3), the Fishers Dan & Jon one each and one for Owens. Norton scored for AFC.
There was a cup match as well this morning as Bayern Monkwick Res travelled south to
Tillingham to take on Dengie Utd in the fourth round of the Essex Sunday Junior Cup.
Unfortunately a place in the next round was not to be for the Monkwick boys as they were beaten
3-2 in a very competitive, well-contested game of football with both sides trying to knock the ball
around. Matt Parr got both for the Bayerns but it wasn't quite enough against a side that
Bayerns manager Jimmy Michie tips to possibly go all the way.

Finally an almost full programme to report today with only four games failing to make kickoff.
It was also a big cup Sunday as matches were taking place in both the League Knockout Cup and
the opening stages of the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy.
But firstly four of our teams were competing in County Cup matches this morning; in the Premier
Cup, Real BTS travelled to Risden Wood in the fourth round and came back winners on the right
side of a 5-0 scoreline. On target for Real this week were Hassard (2), Willetts, Smithen & Isom.
AFC Colchester took on Dutch from Burnham-on-Crouch in the fourth round of the Junior
Trophy but went down 0-3. The other match in this round featured two sides from our league
and the plaudits go to FC Byair who beat FC Straws 4-2. Goalscorers for Byair were Burge,
Brady, Little & Malseed, Mccarron & Jackson were on target for Straws.
In the League Knockout Cup it was also fourth round day and Division Three FC Prettygate
recorded possibly the 'giant killing' of the draw as they beat Division One's Colne Star 1-0 thanks
to a Dan Cook goal, his first goal for Prettygate in his first ever start. AFC Phoenix beat Doverston
6-0 with goals from Thorne (2), Bethell (2), Walkley & Gregory. Ramsey Utd went down 2-3 at
home to Botolphs who had Wright, Kelly & Andrade on target. Division Three's Allstars beat
Division Two table-toppers AFC Lexden 3-2, while Watson & Bull scored for Lexden. Tollegion
beat Tempest 5-0.
In the first round of group matches in the Wally Castle Trophy Corecalona beat SC Kelvedon 3-1
with Caley (2) and Auty on target, Hummerstone got the Kelvedon goal. St Edmunds Res beat
AFC Phoenix Res 5-0, Craig got a hat-trick plus one each for West & Wilson saw St Emunds take
top spot in their group.
In the Premier Division AFC Pegasus continued their perfect record with a 5-0 win over Chappel
& Wakes Colne. On target for Pegasus were Johnson (2), Allsop and the Higgins boys, Byron &
Grant. Bayern Monkwick got themselves a much needed win as they beat Highwoods Foxash 2-0
with Kirton & Beck (on his debut) getting the goals.
Into Division One and CUSA hosted St Edmunds at Shrub End with this one finishing 2-2.
Coghill & Sharpe scored for CUSA with Wilson & Flaherty relying for the Saints. Bayerm
Monkwick Res beat SC Kelvedon Res 6-0 with a Murrells hat-trick and goals for Dawson, Parr &
Dalziel.
Only one game in Division Three and that one finished in a 5-2 win for Feering Utd on their
travels to face Elmstead Athletic. On target for Feering were Stone (2), Catchpole (2) & Burns,
Robinson & Sadler scored for Elmstead.
Not such good fortune for Feering Utd Res in Division Four though as they went down 2-3 at
home to Tolleshunt Darcy Res. No names for the Darcy scorers but Spencer & Jones scored for
Feering. Stone Island beat Athletico Colchester 3-0 with goals from Fergie, Joffy & Johnston.
In Division Five Tiptree Jobserve racked up a tidy win as they beat Corecalona Res 7-0. Sporting
Colchester & CBC Alresford played out a 1-1 with Murison scoring for Sporting.

After last week it all looked quite promising but Jack Frost snuck out in the night to put the
freeze on the Sunday League and only half a dozen matches got played this morning.
In the Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup first round Sporting Colchester played hosts to Colchester
Utd Deaf but it was the visitors who progress to round two after they won the match 2-1 with a
brace from Szcepansk. Murison got the Sporting consolation.
Just one game made the first round of the Terry Martin Trophy; St Edmunds Res beat Highwoods
Foxash Res 9-2. Craig (4), West (2), Peacock, Linnane & Southgate were the scorers for the
Saints.
In the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy, Colne Star beat SC Kelvedon 3-0 with goals from O'Hara,
Cole & Barnard, while Highwoods Foxash beat St Edmunds 7-2. Charles (2), Haswell (2), Morris
(2) & Long got the Foxash goals, Wilson & Flaherty replied for the Saints.
Only two league games made it this morning, CUSA beat Pitchbury 5-0 in the only game that
made it at Shrub End, Rhodes (2), Renton, Quinton & Foulkes scored the goals there. Finally,
Newtown Rovers got a win down at Feering coming home on top by 3-1. Howard-King, King &
James (of) Troy got the Newtown goals, Fitzgerald consoled Feering.

Almost all the games got through this morning with only a handful affected by the closure of Mile
End Rec at the end of last week.
In the fourth round of the League Knockout Cup, Real BTS went down 2-0 to AFC Pegasus for
whom Ray Turner scored both. A goal from Hyde and an OG gave Wivenhoe Old Boys a 2-1 win
away at Oyster Legion, Scoles got the Oyster consolation.
A switch in venues saw the Pitchbury v Doverston match become Doverston v Pitchbury at
Ramsey Rec and it was Doverston who won this one 3-2, putting themselves into the first round
proper of the Ruby Challenge Cup. Knight, King & Mann got the Doverston goals, Rudds &
Hodson scored for Pitchbury.
There were two matches in the first round as well today, Chappel & Wakes Colne beat Ramsey
Utd 3-1 with goals from Lamb (2) & Levoi.
FC Straws played Allstars in the John Fowler Memorial Cup frist round and with a minute to go it
was two apiece but then up popped Reynolds to get the winner for Straws. Clarke had scored
both of Straws previous two goals, Chapler & Murphy were on target for Allstars.

one from Ketley, Ewan scored for Polstead. St Edmunds Res travelled to SC Kelvedon Res and
racked up 16 without reply. Getting their names on the sheet for the Saints were West (7), Craig
(5), Wilson (3) and Linnane.
Back to the league and in the Premier Division Bayern Monkwick beat SC Kelvedon 3-2 thanks to
a hat-trick from Brookes. Lamb & Cole scored for Kelvedon but a post from a penalty kick denied
them a point. Tollegion beat Highwoods Foxash 7-0, Burlington (3), MacMillan, Keeble, Baker
and Bright got the goals.
In Division One AFC Pegasus Res beat Bayern Monkwick Res 2-1. Savill put Pegasus ahead, Daly
got the Bayerns equaliser but a screamer from Clark gave Pegasus the points.
Just the one match in Division Three as well, Tolleshunt Darcy played hosts to FC Prettygate and
won 3-2 with goals from Tiffin, Lewis & Cross. Love & Wye scored for Prettygate.
In Division Four Newtown Rovers Res were 3-1 up at home to Athletico Colchester but after a
serious injury to Sadler that resulted in a trip to hospital, Athletico came back to tie it up at three
each. Two from Hewitt & an OG gave Newtown their three, Jenner, Smith & Guy scored for
Athletico. Stone Island beat Real BTS Res 6-2 with goals from Jackson (2), Wolton (2), Fergy &
Chief, Gooding & Whitnel scored for BTS.
Three matches in Division Five, Tempest beat Colchester Utd Deaf 5-3 at Shrub End with a hattrick from Sheekey & a brace from Humm, Szcepansk & Cordell were on target for Col U.
Athletico Layer & CBC Alresford played out a 2-2 draw, Jones & Enson scored for Athletico,
Fitton got both for CBC. Highwoods Foxash Res beat Tiptree Jobserve 2-1. McPhee & Johnston
got the Highwoods goals, Horsfall scored for Tiptree.

Another big cup weekend in the Colchester Sunday League with five different cup competitions
taking place.
Not a good morning for the two clubs representing the league in county competitions though as
Real BTS went out of the Essex Sunday Premier Cup at the quarter final stage, losing 1-0 at
home to Heybridge Social. FC Byair travelled away to take on Snaresbrook U21 in the Essex
Sunday Junior Trophy but again the Colchester based side went out, losing 4-2 with Davis
getting a brace for Byair.
In the Terry Martin Trophy first round there was a bit of a goal-fest as Corecalona Res beat SC
Kelvedon Res 9-5 after extra time. On target for SC Kelvedon Res were Harris (2), Morris,
Anderson and an OG. Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat Feering Utd Res 7-3 with Lamb getting
five plus one each for Lines & Dobson. Vaughan-Williams (2) and Spencer scored for Feering.
Two goals from Nea and an OG gave Ramsey Utd Res a 3-1 win over Newtown Rovers Res who
had Hewitt on target again.
One game in round two of the Terry Martin this morning as well saw St Edmunds Res beat
Tolleshunt Darcy Res 7-0. Craig (3), Machin (2), Linnane & O'Neill with a '40 yard screamer' put
the Saints into the next round.
The Ruby Challenge Cup saw three games in round one played to a conclusion this morning;
Bayern Monkwick beat Oyster Legion 4-2 thanks to Kirton (2), Newsam & Richer. Gibbins &
Rutter scored for the Oystermen. CUSA went down 0-2 at home to SC Kelvedon, Hummerstone &
Harvey got the goals in that one. AFC Pegasus beat Doverston 4-0 with goals from Johnson (2),
Coffee & G.Higgins.
In the second round match Tollegion and Highwoods Foxash played out a 2-2 draw until the end
of extra time, the Tollegion goals coming from Seaborne & Levitt, Jeal & Chiles for Highwoods.
The game went to penalties and it was Highwoods who took the tie, winning 5-4 after the spotkicks.
Both Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup matches went to extra-time. Tiptree Jobserve beat Wivenhoe
Old Boys 3-1. Gregory, Mann & Parfitt put Tiptree through, O'Connor consoled the Old Boys.
CBC Alresford beat Stone Island 3-2, Smith (2) & Fitton sent CBC into the next round, Johnston
& Caney scored for the Islanders.
Back to the league and in the Premier Division AFC Phoenix beat Ramsey Utd 8-2. Thorne (3),
Walkley (3), Greening & Hanney scored for Phoenix, Mucklow & Kinch got the Ramsey goals.
In Division One Pitchbury recorded a win at home to AFC Pegasus Res with Hodson scoring both
after Hayward had given Pegasus the lead. Bayern Monkwick Res went down at home to Colne
Star by 3-4 in a well-contested, hard-fought match. On target for the Bayerns were Mooney,
Hallam & Campbell but Meadows got all four for Colne Star. Bayerns manager Jimmy Michie has
tipped Colne Star for the top spot in Division One.
Into Division Two and Botolphs went on their travels to Revolution and came home with a 5-1
win. Andrade (2), Kelly, Bugg & Pants ? (sorry, but that's what it sounded like) got the Botolphs
goals, Fox consoled Revolution. Quayside and AFC Lexden drew 2-2 with Ketley & Wright scoring
for Quayside and Mihai getting both for Lexden. Northgate Athletic beat FC Straws 3-2, Davey &
Hammond were on target for Straws.
In Division Three Newtown Rovers beat strugglers Polstead 6-0. Newtown goalscorers were Logan
(2), King, Thompson, Nicklin & an OG which will please Polstead as they could be held at fault for
four own goals - thank goodness for the lack of a 'dubious goals committee'. Elmstead Athletic
beat FC Prettygate 4-1 thanks to a 'Biscuits' hat-trick and one from Everitt. Bond got the
Prettygate goal. Allstars travelled to Feering Utd and went back to Witham with the three points.
Chapler (2) and Buckley got the goals for Allstars, Collett scored for Feering. Tolleshunt Darcy
beat AFC Phoenix Res 1-0.
No games in Division Four but in Division Five Clarendon beat Tempest 4-1 with Lee-Martin &
Scott getting a couple each. Highwoods Foxash Res lost 2-4 at home to Athletico Layer, Pride (2),
Wright & Emson on target for Athletico, MacPhee & Cowes scoring for Highwoods. Sporting
Colchester & Col Utd Deaf drew two-apiece, Murison got both for Sporting, Lettary & Cordell
scored for Col U.

Well that was a bit of a damp one ...
With Mile End Rec closed and a handful of other matches succumbing to the continuing
downpour only sixteen matches kicked off this morning.
In the League Knockout Cup it was quarter final day and AFC Pegasus were the first side to
progress to the semis with a comprehensive 6-0 win against Wivenhoe Old Boys. On target for
Pegasus were Johnson (4), Webb & Coffee. Botolphs are also through after they beat St Edmunds
2-1 with goals from Maidens & Kelly, Parris scored for the Saints. Allstars are through too, they
beat Tollegion 5-2 with goals from Price (2), Chapla, Brown & Buckley. Rollo & Burlington scored
for the 'legion. A first goal of the season from Rob Tovey put FC Prettygate into a somewhat
surprising lead against Premier side AFC Phoenix and they were on top until the pitch at Shrub
End turned into a bog in the eyes of the ref and the match was abandoned after 54 minutes looks like a replay for that one.
Real BTS Res played hosts to Bayern Monkwick Res in the first round of the Terry Martin Trophy
but it was the Bayerns who went through, winning the tie 4-1 with goals from Campbell (2),
Dawson & Parr, Stevens got the BTS goal.
Into the league and SC Kelvedon got a win in the Premier Division as they beat Bayern Monkwick
7-2. Getting the goals for Kelvedon were Hughes (2), Harvey, Scott & Shaun Barrett, Driver and
an OG, on target for Bayern were Kirton & Richer. Also in the Premier, Highwoods Foxash beat
Chappel & Wakes Colne 2-1, Jeal & Morris scored for Highwoods, Lamb was on target for
Chappel.
Oyster Legion got themselves a win in Division One as they beat AFC Pegasus Res 4-2, the goals
coming from Rutter (2), Matthews & Gibbons, Harrison got both for Pegasus. Doverston beat
Pitchbury 6-3 with a brace apiece for Farmer, Kind & Mann, the Pitchbury goals coming from
Hodson, Loughler & Syrich.
Just one match survived in Division Two as FC Straws beat Quayside 3-2 at Shrub End. Nash (2)
and Clarke inside the last few minutes gave Straws the win, Wright & Deal scored for Quayside.
In Division Three Elmstead Athletic beat Newtown Rovers 5-1 with Pryke, Stanmore and a hattrick from 'Biscuit' getting the goals. Olley consoled Newtown. The other match in Division Three
was a veritable six-pointer as bottom sides AFC Phoenix Res and Polstead played around in the
mud at Shrub End. This one made 70 minutes before the ref called time with Polstead winning
3-0 with goals from Bartrum, A.Wells & Pym.
In Division Four Corecalona continue to rack up the goals as they beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 133. Caley (6), Taylor (3), Auty (2), Ross & Dillon were the Corecalonans on the scoresheet this
week, Thomas (2) & Finn scored for Darcy. Stone Island beat Newtown Rovers Res 3-0, Wolton
(2) & Caine getting the goals. Athletico Colchester went down 2-4 at home to St Edmunds Res
who had West (2), O'Neill & CRaig on target, Chilver got both for Athletico.
In Division Five just one game had Tiptree Jobserve two up against Sporting Colchester thanks to
goals from Parfitt & Platt but the ref abandoned this one at half-time.

Well that's a bit better - a bit of sunshine and all (but one) of the games got played.
Lots of cup matches today with five different competitions having games ... in the one outstanding
League Lnockout Cup quarter final, FC Prettygate nearly made it through to the shootout against
Premier side AFC Phoenix but were undone in the very last minute of extra time to go out 3-2.
On target for Phoenix were Mason (2) & Gregory, Fletcher & 'Headband' Andrews got the
Prettygate goals.
In the second round of the Terry Martin Trophy Bayern Monkwick Res beat AFC Phoenix Res 61. The Bayerns goals came from Newman (3), Hallan, Dawson & Dalziel while Killen consoled
Phoenix. Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat ten-man Ramsey Utd 5-4. Bibby, Jobson, Norfolk,
Baines & Jones scored for Chappel, Glover (2), Palmer & Good scored for Ramsey. AFC Pegasus
Res beat Corecalona Res 7-2 with their goals coming from Harrison (3), Cowan (2) & Dale (2),
Walker & Serheunik got the Corecalona goals.
In the second round of the John Fowler Memorial Cup AFC Lexden faced FC Straws and it was
the Straws who took the tie with a goal inside the last five minutes of extra time from Jackson.
The Straws other goals came from Clarke (2) & Nash. The Lexden scorers were Mason, Watson &
Brown.

at full time but Clarendon came on strong in the extra period and booked their place in round
two, winning in the end 5-2. Everiit & Yearling got the Layer goals.
In the second round matches, CBC Alresford beat Tempest 7-4 with a brace each for Brierley,
Scott & Smith plus one for Lester, Harding (2), Sheekey & Humm scored for Tempest. Tiptree
Jobserve beat Athletico Colchester 7-1 thanks to a Parfitt hat-trick and goals from Gregory,
Williamson, Curnick & Mann, Burgess got the Athletico goal.
Just one group match in the Wally Castle this morning saw CUSA go down at home to FC Byair
by 4-3. Norman, Malseed, Stephenson & Little scored for Byair, Coghill, Foulkes & Sharpe were

B.Higgins after Kelvedon had taken the lead thanks to a Pegasus OG. Bayern Monkwick beat
Ramsey Utd 4-1 with goals from Beck (3) & Richer, Nea got the Ramsey goal. Tollegion beat
Chappel & Wakes Colne 2-0 with goals from Rollo & Palinton and Highwoods Foxash beat Real
BTS 1-0 with a goal from Haswell.
In Division One St Edmunds racked up eleven without reply against Oyster Legion. The goals
came from Mole (4), Flaherty (3), Cannon (2), Pulham and Steve Wilson.

Another week of cup matches as all the competitions are rapidly approaching the closing stages.
In the League Knockout Cup semi finals it was old rivals AFC Phoenix against AFC Pegasus and
this one went to extra time. Walkley (2) and Woolgar with a 35yd free kick eventually saw AFC
Phoenix into the final, Johnson and Springett were the Pegasus scorers. Phoenix will play
Botolphs in the final as they beat Allstars from Division Three by 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from
Andrade and one from Kelly.
More semi finals this morning, this time in the Terry Martin Trophy, Bayern Monkwick Res beat
St Edmunds Res 5-0 with goals from Newman (2), Campbell, Hallan & Parr. The Bayerns will
take on AFC Pegasus Res who beat Ramsey Utd Res 3-1 thanks to Dale, Martin & Harrison, Nea
got the Ramsey consolation.
In the Ruby Cup first round Colne Star took on Real BTS but it was Real who won through 4-2
with a brace each for Smithen & Dilliway. O'Hara and an OG gave Colne Star their goals.
In the second round of the Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup Clarendon beat Colchester Utd Deaf 4-1
with goals from Karolchyk (2), Barr & Campbell, Bone got the ColU consolation. Corecalona
suffered a rare defeat going down 3-2 to AFC Colchester who had Poole (2) & Bethell on target.
Taylor & Caley scored for Corecalona.
One Wally Castle group game this morning saw Highwoods Foxash beat Wivenhoe Old Boys 2-1.
Freeman was today's Old Boy on target.
Into the league and SC Kelvedon won at home to Tollegion in the Premier Division. Willson
opened the coring for Kelvedon, Burlington got the 'legion goal but McQuiston won it for
Kelvedon.
No games in Division One so onto Div Two where goals from Mason & Mihai gave AFC Lexden a 20 win at Revolution. Quayside were today's top scorers as they beat Northgate Athletic 7-1.
Wright (4), Ketley, Wood & Bridges gave the Quaysiders the points. FC Byair and Borussia
Thorpmund played out a 2-2 draw. Thorpmund had Ribchester & Wiggett on target.
In Division Three FC Prettygate are still after a promotion spot as they beat strugglers Polstead 51. on target for the 'gate were Love (2), Hunt (2) & Fox on his debut. Bell got the consolation.
Tolleshunt Darcy beat Feering Utd 5-2, a Tiffin hat-trick & one each for Collins & Mayland gave
Darcy the points, Catchpole & Stone scored for Feering.
Feering Utd Res faired better in Division Four as they beat Athletico Colchester 3-2. On target for
Feering were Fisher (2) & Spencer while Parker & Baton scored for Athletico.
Into Division Five and Tempest got a win away at Tiptree beating them by two Harding goals to
nil. CBC Alresford played Highwoods Foxash Res in the first double header of the season but it
was Highwoods who took all the points on offer, winning 3-0 and 1-0. Macphee (2) & Johnson
scored in the first match, a Macphee goal was enough to win the second.

A beautiful morning, the sun was shining, all-in-all a great day for Sunday football.
It was John Fowler Memorial Cup semi final time and Elmstead Athletic were the first team
through to the final as they beat Tolleshunt Darcy 5-1. Alas goalscorers from both sides were
sadly not submitted. Elmstead will face FC Straws in the match for the silverware after they beat
Borussia Thorpmund 4-2 on penalty kicks after the teams tied two-apiece after extra-time.
Reynolds & Nash scored for Straws, the Thorpmund scorers were Shave & Wiggett.
In the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy we are still at the group stage, Ramsey Utd Res beat
Newtown Rovers 4-2 thanks to goals from Good (2), Burwood-Coe and Bell. Troy & Pirie scored
for Newtown. Doverston took on Real BTS Res and won 7-1 with goals coming from King, Mann
& Knight who all got 2 and Sharpe ... who got one ! Whitnell got the BTS goal. Pitchbury played
Quayside but it was the Quaysiders who booked their place in the knockout stage as they won 51 with goals from Deal (2), Wood, Wright & Ketley. Sporting Colchester went down 2-1 at home to
Newtown Res who had York & Hewitt on target, Murison scored for Sporting. AFC Lexden beat
CUSA 6-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Mason and goals from Bray, Bleck & an OG. Streatfield
scored for CUSA. Wivenhoe Old Boys beat St Edmunds in a best-of-seven. Freeman (2), Sinclair
& Barber scored for the Old Boys, Shearing (2) & Mole were on target for the Saints. SC Kelvedon
Res beat AFC Phoenix Res 2-0, Flynn & Gage on target in that one.
There were a couple of matches in the Ruby Challenge Cup second round. AFC Pegasus beat
Bayern Monkwick 3-0 with goals from B.Higgins, G.Higgins and Johnson. AFC Phoenix also got a
win as they beat Chappel & Wakes Colne 6-1. Thorne (3), Walkley (2) & Greenley got the goals for
Phoenix, Lines consoled Chappel.
Back to the league and Highwoods Foxash beat Ramsey Utd 4-1 in the Premier Division. Nea got
the Ramsey goal.
In Division One Bayern Monkwick Res beat Oyster Legion 15-1. Oyster played the whole game
with only nine men and didn't give up but alas the Bayerns were too strong. The goals came from
Murrells (4), Dalziel (4), Newman (2), Campbell, Francis, Williams, Moodie & Daley. Gibbons got
the Oyster goal. AFC Pegasus Res took on Colne Star and almost had the win as Hayward led the
way but Colne Star equalised with ten to go through Barnard.
Into Division Two and Botolphs recorded a 4-2 win over Revolution. Pash (2), Kelly & Hampson
scored for Botolphs. FC Byair beat Northgate Athletic 3-0 with Burge, Davis & Norman on target.
In Division Three Polstead went down at home by another big score, this time 9-0 against Feering
Utd. The Feering scorers were Stone (3), Collett (2), George, Fisher, Spencer & Irons.
Corecalona continued their winning ways in Division Four this time overcoming the challenge of
Stone Island 4-1 with Caley getting all four, Wolton go the Islander's goal. St Edmunds Res beat
AFC Colchester 6-1, Craig (2), Wilson, Walters, Southgate & Machin scored for the Sints, Bethell
got the AFC consolation.
In Division Five Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat Tiptree Jobserve 4-1 with Davis scoring all four.
Nairn got the Tiptree goal. Tempest beat Highwoods Foxash Res 3-2 thanks to Harding (2) &
Humm. Athletico Layer beat Colchester Utd Deaf 2-0 with goals from Everitt & Boyton.
Corecalona Res took on CBC Alresford in a double header but it was CBC who came out on top in
both matches, 2-0 and 5-0. The CBC scorers were Fitton & Smith in the first match, Mowbray
(3), Smith & Wyncoll scored in the second.

Another bright morning - with only the change in the clocks causing a problem with regards to
games kicking off on time !!
In the Ruby Challenge Cup second round SC Kelvedon played hosts to Real BTS and in the end
only one goal decided it - Kelvedon winning in the 115th minute thanks to a strike from Barrett.
In the second round of the Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup Tiptree Jobserve beat Athletico
Colchester 4-1 with goals from Gregory (2), Eaves & Parfitt, Burgess consoled Athletico.
It was also Wally Castle group matches this morning with a few knockout stage places confirmed
... AFC Lexden and FC Byair shared a two-all draw in group B and that sees both sides through.
Humm & Malseed were on target for Byair, Bray & Bleck scored for Lexden. Tolleshunt Darcy
beat Real BTS Res 4-1 thanks to goals from Collins & Southern who got two each, Dilliway scored
for BTS, Darcy are definitely through. In group E ten-man Polstead got a 3-3 draw at Pitchbury
and that sees Polstead into the knockout phase on goal difference. On target for them were Bell,
Pym & an OG, Hodson (2) & Hopley scored for Pitchbury. Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat
Newtown Res 4-2 but it wasn't enough to see them through. Harrison, Fletcher & two OGS gave
Chappel the points, Hood & Davis scored for Newtown. Clarendon put paid to Newtown Rovers
first XI chances of progressing with a 3-1 win. Lee-Martin, Aley & Barr got the goals, Pirie got his
second in two starts for Newtown.
Back to the league and AFC Pegasus took a big step in taking the Premier title as they beat
closest rivals AFC Phoenix 2-1 with a brace from B.Higgins. Gregory got the Phoenix goal.
Chappel & Wakes Colne drew 1-1 with Highwoods Foxash, Burns scored for Chappel, Morris was
on target for Highwoods.
In division One Bayern Monkwick Res beat Oyster Legion 3-0 on their trip to the Glebe, Parr,
Murrells & an OG gave the Bayerns the points. CUSA also won on their travels, 2-1 down at
Doverston. Foulkes and Sharpe got the CUSA goals. St Edmunds hosted Colne Star for a double
header but is was the vistors who took maximum points winning both matches 2-1. Gridley &
Hill, then Bloss & Cole scored for the Star, Mole & Wilson got the Saints goals.
In Division Two FC Straws racked up double figures against Northgate winning 10-1. On target
for the Straws were Clark (4),Burnett (4), Jackson & Hammond. Botolphs went down 2-0 at
home to Borussia Thorpmund.
In Division Three Allstars beat AFC Phoenix Res 7-1 with goals coming from Chapler (2), Price (2),
Hill, Brown & Carter. Dow scored for Phoenix. Another double-header in this division saw the
points shared, Ramsey Utd Res beat Elmstead Athletic 2-1 in the first match, the Goods (D & R)
delievered for Ramsey. Elmstead got their own back in the second match, winning 1-0 - 'Biscuits'
getting both of Elmstead's goals.
Draws aplenty in Division Four with something of a shock as Corecalona failed to score, drawing
0-0 with St Edmunds Res. Wivenhoe Old Boys and AFC Colchester also failed to find the net in
their match while Feering Utd Res drew one each with Stone Island, Fisher scored for Feering,
Caine for AFC.
CBC Alresford beat Athletico Layer 2-0 in Division Five, Mowbray & a Fitton penalty gave them
the points. Corecalona Res beat Sporting Colchester 2-1 thanks to goals from Hancock & Powell,
Wilson was on target for Sporting.

Cup final morning today as Bayern Monkwick Res & AFC Pegasus Res contested the Terry Martin
Trophy. A good match by all accounts but it was Bayern who came out on top, winning the
silverware by 4-1. On target for the Bayerns were Newman (2), Hallas & Parr, Harrison scored for
Pegasus.
Over at Shrub End Rec it was semi final day with places in both the Ruby Challenge Cup & The
Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup up for grabs.
In the Ruby Highwoods Foxash lost out to AFC Phoenix thanks to a Gregory hat-trick and one
from Walkley. Chatters consoled Highwoods. Phoenix will be playing SC Kelvedon who beat AFC
Pegasus 3-0 with a Willson brace and one from Smith.
The Ernie Osborne finalists will be CBC Alresford who beat AFC Colchester 2-0 with goals from
Fitton & Smith and Tiptree Jobserve who beat Clarendon 3-1.
In the Wally Castle group stages there was only one game this morning, Tolleshunt Darcy beat
Doverston 4-2. Smith, Southern, Collins & Lewis were on target for Darcy, Horner & King for
Doverston.
Into the league and in the Premier Division a brace from Brookes gave Bayern Monkwick a 2-1
win at Real BTS who had Dilliway on target. Chappel & Wakes Colne drew 1-1 with Tollegion,
Amas scored for Chappel, Keeble for the 'legion.
In Division One SC Kelvedon played the whole match with ten having given up players to their
first team, they went down 0-9 at home to Colne Star.
Into Division Two and AFC Lexden beat FC Straws 3-1 with two from Mason and one from Bleck,
Clark scored for the Straws. FC Byair trounced Northgate 13-1 with goals coming from Burge (6),
Brady (2), Smith, Davis, Saunders, Malseed & Little.
Division Three and Allstars picked up another three points as they beat Newtown Rovers 3-0 with
goals from Chapler (2) & Carter. FC Prettygate went down at home by the same score to
Elmstead Athletic for whom Stanmore got two. AFC Phoenix Res also lost at home, 3-2 to Feering
Utd. Collett, Catchpole & Stone scored for Feering, Killen got both for Phoenix. Polstead look
destined for the drop as they completed their league campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Ramsey Utd
Res who scored through Nea & Jepson.
Only one game survived in Division Four, Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Feering Utd Res 3-2 thanks to
Hyde (2) & Barber, Spencer got both for Feering.
In Division Five Chappel & Wakes Colne Res beat Athletico Layer by a single goal from Dobson
while Tempest beat Colchester Utd Deaf 6-1. Laffery got the ColU goal.

First off, congratulations to SC Kelvedon, winners of this morning's Ruby Challenge Cup. They
beat AFC Phoenix by three goals to nil at Bromley Road thanks to a brace from Hughes & one
from Willson.
In the 'round of 16' of the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy, there were in fact only ten teams in
action due to the withdrawal of three sides, going through to the quarter finals after this
morning's matches are Colne Star who beat Wivenhoe Old Boys 3-2. Gridley (2) & Joseph scored
for Colne Star, Hyde & Freeman were the Old Boys on target. Corecalona beat Tolleshunt Darcy
3-1 with goals from Cheeseworth, Napolitano & Auty, Tiffin got the Darcy goal.
Goals from Chiles (2), Jeal, Morris & Crowe saw Highwoods Foxash through 5-4 against FC Byair,
Davis (2), Little & Malseed were on target for Byair. Sporting Colchester ended Polstead's season
with a 4-0 win at Old Heath Rec, the goals coming from Wilson, Murison, Binks & Gardener.
Ramsey Utd Res took a very early lead (five seconds in fact) thanks to the boot of Nea, but
Doverston rallied in the remaining 89 mins 55 secs to come out on top 5-1 thanks to Potter (3) &
Mann (2).
In the league AFC Pegasus could be almost there as they beat Bayern Monkwick 7-0 with goals
from Springett, Higgins, 'Wozza' & Johnson.
In Division One Bayern Monkwick & CUSA played a double header and it was the Bayerns who
took all six points winning 2-1 & 4-0. Dalziel got both for Monkwick in match one, Parr got all
four in match two, Keighley got the CUSA goal. Oyster Legion and Pitchbury drew 4-4, Gibbons
(2), Scholes & Rutter scored for Oyster, Lowther (2), Hopley & Tomoroga for Pitchbury.
Revolution beat FC Straws 2-1 in Division Two, Paterson & Gomez scored for Revolution,
Reynolds got the Straws goal. Botolphs travelled to Borussia Thorpmund and came home with all
three points, winning 3-0 with goals from Kelly, Pash & Andrade.
Into Division Three and Allstars beat Elmstead Athletic 3-1 thanks to Carter, Chapler & Price,
Hyde got the Elmstead goal. FC Prettygate beat Newtown Rovers 1-0 thanks to a first of the
season from Kennersley. Feering Utd beat AFC Phoenix Res 9-0 with goals from Stone (4), Collett
(3), Irons & Tanner.
In Division Four Real BTS Res beat Feering Utd Res 4-1. Dilliway, Gooding, Jeffrey & Lemon
scored for BTS, Spencer got the Feering consolation. Another double header saw AFC Colchester
take six points from Tolleshunt Darcy Res, winning 4-0 and 4-1. The scorers in both matches for
AFC were Close (2), Bethell & Ekins, Weaver got the Darcy goal.
Tiptree Jobserve beat Clarendon 4-3 in Division Five, Parfitt, Flack, Cramer & Elshaw (?) scored
for Tiptree. Chappel & Wakes Colne Res drew two apiece with Corecalona Res. Norfolk & Dobson
scored for Chappel, Hancock & Serheunik were on target for Corecalona. The last game of the
day saw Tempest host CBC Alresford in a double header, the first game was tied 1-1, Smith
scoring for CBC, Harding for Tempest, the second was a 1-0 win for Alresford with Mowbray
scoring from the spot.

An absolutely lovely morning (if this is volcanic ash - we'll have it every week) and the match of
the day was of course the John Fowler Memorial Cup Final at Ford Lane, Alresford between FC
Straws and Elmstead Athletic. Nil-nil at half time but it was Elmstead who made the most of
their first half possession, taking the game to Straws again in the second half and coming out on
top 3-0 thanks to a brace from Langmead and one from Pryke.
It was also Wally Castle Trophy Quarter-finals this morning. Doverston are through to the last
four as they beat Highwoods Foxash 3-1 with goals from King, Mann & Knight. Chiles got the
Foxash goal. AFC Lexden are also through as they beat St Edmunds Res 3-2. The Lexden goals
came from Nicholson, Mihai & K.Buda, Linnane & Machin scored for the Saints. A bit closer
between Corecalona and Colne Star who tied 4-4 at the end of normal time. Auty (3) & Taylor
scored for Corecalona. At the end of extra time Corecalona changed their keeper for the spot
kicks and Ian Todd became the hero, saving all three Star kicks to see Corecalona through 3-0.
Quayside beat Sporting Colchester 3-0 and go through, their goals came from Wright, Quinn &
Ketley.
In the Premier Division AFC Pegasus racked up eleven without reply against a Tollegion side. On
target for Pegasus were Johnson (3), B.Higgins (2), Springett (2), Ennew (2), Webb & 'Macca'.
Chappel & Wakes Colne beat SC Kelvedon 4-1, goals there coming from Coote (2), Allison & Davis
for Chappel, Lodge got the Kelvedon goal. AFC Phoenix & Real BTS played a double header at
Shrub End Rec and Phoenix took all six points against the 8 men of BTS. The first game ended
3-2, an OG & Isom on target for BTS, the second 4-2, another OG and Joy scoring for BTS.
In Division One Bayern Monkwick Res went to St edmunds and came away with all three points,
winning 5-2 thanks to Parr (2), Newman, Hallas & Francis, Cannon & Browning scored for St
Edmunds. Pitchbury look to have retained their Div One status beating SC Kelvedon Res 2-1
with Tomoroga getting both, Flynn got the Kelvedon consolation.
Just one game in Division Two, FC Byair beat Botolphs 5-3, Little (2), Davis (2) & Humm scored
for Byair, Hampson (2) & Andrade were on target for Botolphs.
AFC Phoenix Res could only field ten men against Allstars in Division Three but no favours from
the Witham based side as they put thirteen past Phoenix. Wakelin (4), Hill (3), Purdy (3), Buckley
(2), Williams (2) & Phillips were the Allstars on target. Feering & Ramey Res drew 3-3, collett,
Dowton & Pinder scored for Feering, the Ramsey scorers were M.Good (2) & D.Good (1).
Into Division Four and Real BTS Res beat Stone Osland 2-1 with goals from Lemon & Whitnell,
Speedy got the Stone Island goal. Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Tolleshunt Darcy Res 3-1 thanks to
Freeman (2) & Hyde, Cutmore replying for Darcy. AFC Colchester beat Athletico Colchester 8-0,
the goals there coming from Close (3), Bond (2), Bethell (2) and Ekins.
In Division Five Tempest beat Tiptree Jobserve 4-3. Jones, Parfitt & Mann scored for Tiptree.
Chappel & Wakes Colne Res and Highwoods Foxash Res shared the points with a 4-4 draw.
Fletcher & Dobson got two each for Chappel, no scorers recorded for Highwoods. CBC Alresford
went down 4-5 at home to Clarendon. Kemble (2), Aylin (2) & Barr scored for Clarendon,

Another Sunday in April and another final. Congratulations to CBC Alresford and Tiptree
Jobserve for a very entertaining game up at Ford Lane, Alresford, but slightly more
congratulations must go to CBC who eventually won the Ernie Osborne Challenge Cup after extra
time and penalties. Tiptree took the lead through Curnick but CBC tied it up with a goal from
Quinney. Into extra time and CBC went ahead through Ford only to be pegged back by Parfitt
but it was CBC taking the cheers at the end as they won the shootout 5-4.
Into the Wally Cup semi-finals and it was a bad day at the office for AFC Lexden who went down
4-0 to Corecalona who made their way into the final thanks to goals from Auty (2), Taylor & Todd.
They will face Quayside who beat Doverston 3-2 thanks to a brace from Ketley & one from Wright.
Back to the league and AFC Pegasus are almost there as they remain unbeaten, winning 4-0
away at Ramsey Utd with goals from 'Macca', Cowans, Higgins & Allsop. Still in with a faint
shout are AFC Phoenix who beat SC Kelvedon 9-2 with goals from Townrow (4), Walkley, Thorpe,
Woolgar, Gregory & Maul, Kelvedon's goals came from Gage & Hales but they finished with only
eight men. Highwoods Foxash beat ten-man Real BTS 4-2 thanks to a brace apiece from Evans &
Morris, Lawson & Troy scored for BTS.
In Division One the title is still up for grabs as Bayern Monkwick Res beat Pitchbury 6-0, goals
coming from Murrells (2), S.Campbell, Newman, Hallas & R.Campbell.
Botolphs have gone second but only on goal difference as they beat FC Straws 5-3. Pash, Kelly,
Andrade, Hampson & Hilton got the goals for Botolphs, Reynolds, Nash & Serheunik were on
target for Straws.
In Division Three Allstars wrapped up the title with an 8-0 win over FC Prettygate with goals from
Chapla, Williams, Carter & Chivers. Tolleshunt Darcy beat AFC Phoenix Res 15-0, with King (5),
Tiffin (3), Cutmore (2), Lewis, Coates, Chapman, Southern & Collins all getting their names on the
scoresheet.
St Edmunds Res drew 2-2 with AFC Colchester but that was enough to guarantee second spot
behind Corecalona in Division Four. Craig got both for the Saints, Bethell & Pushman scored for
AFC. Feering Utd Res finished their season beating Real BTS Res 4-3 with goals from Fisher,
Nile, George & Collett. Whitnell (2) & Gosling scored for BTS. Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Newtown
Res 4-1 thanks to T.Freeman (2), R.Freeman & Hyde. Fisher scored for Newtown.
Tempest are champions of Division Five but today they went down 4-1 to Chappel & Wakes Colne

After some lovely Sundays in April, the weather greeting everyone getting out of bed on this
Sunday morning wasn't anywhere near as pleasant.
It was the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy Final this morning up at Foxash Sports and Social
Club and after the disappointment of last year's defeat at the hands of Colne Star it was smiles all
round as Corecalona beat Quayside 5-0, with goals from Todd (2), Caley, Taylor & an OG.

Into the league and AFC Pegasus look to have all but wrapped it up as they beat Chappel &
Wakes Colne 8-0. On target for Pegasus were Johnson (3), B.Higgins (2), Ennew, Curtis & Coffee.
AFC Phoenix are still right there though, a 4-0 win over Tollegion with goals coming from Thorne
(2), Taylor & Bethell. Real BTS also got a win, beating Ramsey Utd 4-1 up at Langham Rec.
Smithen, Isom, Troy & Hassard got the goals for BTS, Lewis got the Ramsey consolation.
In Division One Colne Star took the title with an 11-3 over Doverston. Scoring for Colne Star were
Gridley (3), Webster (3), Barnard, Cole, Auger & Salter. (On the subject of Colne Star winning
Division One, I have been asked to pass on the congratulations from Bayern Monkwick Res and
their manager Jimmy Michie who phoned in specifically for that reason.)
In Division Two FC Byair beat AFC Lexden 2-0 with goals from Hammarton & Davis.
A double header in Division Three saw Tolleshunt Darcy take on Ramsey Utd Res twice and finish
both games with a scoreline of 6-0. (Alas, no scorers !)
In Division Four AFC Colchester beat Real BTS Res 4-1, the goals coming from Ekins, Walsham,
Clover & Dyer, the BTS consolation came courtesy of Panton. Wivenhoe Old Boys came out in the
best of nine goal thriller at home to Stone Island, the Wivenhoe goals coming from R & T

In Division Five Tiptree Jobserve got a little revenge for last week's cup final defeat as they beat
CBC Alresford 3-1. Mann, Taylor & Parfitt got goals for Tiptree, Paddock scored for CBC.
Clarendon beat Sporting Colchester 4-0 and then 5-0 in their double header, but again, no
scorers !!
