National Standards 2. Performing on instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music. Objectives Students will understand the different methods used in tuning the guitar. Students will demonstrate correct hand positions and understand a chord diagram. Strategies & Activities Introduce – Guitar tuning – Electronic Tuner, Keyboard & Relative tuning Read and discuss the information found in P 92 Essential Elements for Guitar. Activity – Demonstrate tuning the guitar using the keyboard and have students help determine if the individual guitar strings are in tune. Introduce – Playing Chords - Hand Positions & Chord Diagram P 4 Activity – Have students demonstrate correct hand positions on their guitars.
