Professional Experiences:
I have been teaching for more than 20 years. I specialize in guitar, banjo, & mandolin with the
ability to teach a number of other instruments (bass, dulcimer, ukulele, fiddle) I work with people
of all ages and musical experience. I custom tailor my lessons to fit the needs and interests of
each individual student, which creates a unique and simplified approach to understanding &
playing music.
Instrument studies/experience:
Guitar: 25 years, studied classical and jazz guitar in college, experience and knowledge in many
music styles and genres, improvisation, song writing, theory, ear training, song transcription, and
composition.
Banjo: 15 years, Scruggs (3 finger) style, melodic (fiddle), clawhammer/frailing style.
Mandolin, Fiddle, Dulcimer, Bass, Ukulele: I have played or currently play these instruments
Bands:
I have been involved in many bands/ensembles and collaborations over the years. Listed are
