Research Interests
Developing and establishing research-based educational leadership and policy models
which address needs of marginalized students suffering from learning disabilities and
socio-economic deprivation with a specific focus upon literacy development and special
education. Curriculum and lesson plan design facilitating SLA and learner autonomy.
Measuring the effectiveness of educational programs related to literacy and culture, by
tracking personality-based learning style factors and preferred pedagogical approaches
which result in greater developmental performance for students in special, elementary,
secondary, and higher education.
Enhancing intrinsic motivation within remediation classes for students at academic risk.
Integrating technology with reading comprehension and genre-based writing course
design based on inductive logic and socio-cultural constructivism.
Lexical induction and establishing learning parameters in primary / secondary language

 Researched extensive literature review of personality and educational
psychology related to learning style diversity and second language
acquisition of English within Asian and international educational contexts.



Studied and became certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
advanced application to educational contexts in the USA and Japan
Conducted research on large-scale (N=458) Japanese university student
population to administer MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and do
quantitative analysis of second language acquisition gains related to
personality-based learning style diversity, proficiency skill-specific grades,
TOEFL scores in multiple regression analysis, utilizing SPSS software.
Wrote 50-page Master’s research paper on determining effectiveness of
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) higher educational programs as
correlated with original personality-based Jungian indicators, grades, and
TOEFL benchmarks of proficiency with extensive referential footnotes in
preparation for publishing.

Russian icons in egg-tempera, gesso, gold leaf encaustic techniques. Studied and
applied intaglio and bas-relief wood carving, lathe-turning, dovetailing techniques
to many types of hard woods in recreating medieval polychromatic religious art
(self-taught).
Furniture Restorer & Refinisher (1974–1983). Stripped, refinished, carved, and
repaired all types of solid and veneer antique furniture, horse buggies, and reupholstery. Earned money by purchasing broken furniture, restoring, and
marketing it (self-employed).
Auto Mechanic & Restorer (1970-1983). Repaired, restored, and customized over 200
antique, sports, and vintage cars. Earned money by: swapping, buying, selling,
parting out, and networking with other restorers (self-employed).
Mechanical Restorer (1964-1974). Repaired and restored wiring, electrical, and
mechanical components of antique 5-cent pinball machines, typewriters,
clocks, and bicycles. Earned money in elementary & high school by visiting junk
yards, antique shops, garage sales, and swap meets, buying broken/discarded
mechanical items which I repaired, restored and resold (self-employed).

Served as Secretary, Chairman of the Curriculum Committee, Vice-Chairman
