Year 12 Biology: Gas Exchange differentiated unit You may work individually or in a small group (maximum of 3 students). However, each student must be responsible for their own learning and must attempt ALL activities and tasks. You may complete the tasks in any order, but they must be completed by the due date. After which revision will commence for the unit test. After the completion of each task, mark your own work using the answer folder provided and ask your teacher to sign the appropriate box in the table. Patterns of life textbook and the ESA Y12 Bio textbook (teal coloured) should stay in the classroom unless they have been specifically issued to you. You must bring your Patterns of life workbooks to class. You are responsible for making sure that you understand each topic – ask if you need help, but C3B4ME (see 3 other students about your question before you see me) The powerpoints and worksheet are available on Miss Jan’s wikispace (http://miss-jansscience-wikispace.wikispaces.com/Gas+Exchange) and on the Student Resources folder (M:\Science\Biology\12 Biology\2.6 Gas exchange) Tasks Activities 1 General Gas Exchange ESA textbook – Read p197-198 and complete activity 15A BIOZONE p189 “Introduction to Gas Exchange” (photocopy) BIOZONE p190-191 “Gas exchange in Animals” (photocopy) BIOZONE p196 “Respiratory Pigment” (photocopy) BIOZONE p198 “Gas transport in Mammals” (photocopy) Complete “Animal Gas Exchange – sheet A or B (your teacher will suggest which one is best for you).
