the keys to them. They also find a brush, a comb, a clothes brush, a jug and a basin with
dirty water which appeared to be reddened by blood. (414)
10. Describe the physical changes that have taken place in Jonathan Harker in the past
twenty four hours.
Jonathan Harker now appears an old, haggard man with a drawn face, white hair,
a face lined with grief, and hollow burning eyes. A day ago Jonathan had been a lively,
youthful man with dark hair. (415)
11. What does Van Helsing learn of Count Dracula’s mortal life?
Van Helsing learns that Dracula was a very intelligent soldier, statesman, and
alchemist. Dracula knew no fear or remorse in his mortal life, rather like his undead life.
