Registration will be valid from 16 April 2015 up to 15 April 2016. Short term vacancies within Workforce Management arise from time to time for positions at a range of levels. The Units within Workforce Management include: Directorate Support The Directorate Support Team is responsible for providing the primary contact for Workforce Management to other state government and non-government agencies and organisations, and between DECD and other state and territory authorities. The key tasks for this team include: providing executive services to the Director Workforce Management supporting Workforce Management to achieve its stated objectives providing strategic, coordinated advice on program and policy matters undertake strategic projects that support the operations of Workforce Management and adhere to government initiatives and departmental priorities HR Services—Preschools and Schools HR Services—Preschools and Schools works in support of school and preschool communities to achieve enhanced educational outcomes through the strategic allocation and integrated use of human resources. Services include: Provision of high quality consultancy services to sites. Delivery of support programs and projects. Provision of connected and coordinated services. Delivery of capacity building strategies for sites, regions and state office. Development of risk management strategies and options for sites. The unit provides high quality customer services including: Responding to phone, email, written and personal queries concerning the Minimum Requirements for employment with DECD. Maintaining quality assurance and accuracy of the information contained within applications. Providing a consultancy service to universities and other DECD units. HR Improvements HR Improvement is responsible within HRWD for the identification, management, review and implementation of: Document, records & web information management Process improvement and monitoring service delivery Business improvement projects Quality assurance and data integrity On-line help Strategic Recruitment and Retention The Strategic Recruitment and Retention Team is responsible for the development and implementation of a range of programs and initiatives designed to attract and retain graduates, teachers, Aboriginal trainees and leaders to DECD, particularly in areas of need. This is achieved through: Consultation, collaboration and promotion with other DECD work units, schools and regions. Establishing and maintaining strong links with tertiary partners. Providing a high quality service in responding to a range of enquires and requests from current and potential clients. Corporate HR Services Corporate HR Services is responsible for providing HR advice and service to DECD Managers and employees located in State Office, Regional Offices or other non-school sites by: Providing information and support to Executives, Managers and staff on a broad range of HR related matters. Reviewing, implementing and promoting best practice human resource systems, processes and activities. Promoting employment initiatives – Public Sector Special Employment Programs and Redeployment. HR Systems and Employee Services Employee Services Unit The Employee Services Unit supports sites, Shared services Payroll and Site HR to: Maintain accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages and allowances for DECD employees. Follow up rejected schedules from Shared Services Payroll to ensure payment of employees. Testing of system developments. Data Cleansing as required. Training and communicating regular releases of system updates Positions within Workforce Management An expression of interest is invited from applicants for a range of Education Act and Public Sector Act positions. Eligibility: S101B Education Act Vacancies, Levels 2-5 Applicants for S101B positions do not require teacher registration or a current authority to teach. Applicants are required to gain a Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) childrelated employment screening prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every three years. Applicants for s101B positions must meet DECD minimum employment requirements relevant to the position before taking up the appointment. Applicants for s101B positions do not need to be currently employed by DECD to register interest to the included in the pool. Successful applicants will be appointed under the Education Act and receive conditions that are similar to Public Sector Act conditions. Education Act, Seconded Teacher Levels 1-3 Applicants for Seconded Teacher positions must hold a SA teacher registration or be registered to teach in SA, and either be a permanent DECD employee or meet DECD minimum employment requirements before taking up an appointment, which includes: An active online application for employment as a teacher with the DECD Employable Teacher Register, South Australian teacher registration, a cleared on-line employment declaration, Reporting Abuse and Neglect Training (previously known as Mandatory Notification), First Aid certification and Australian residency or a work permit for the period of the position. Successful applicants will remain under the Education Act, but be appointed to the following conditions: STL1 - Retain Teacher conditions STL2 & 3 - Retain Teacher conditions if initial appointment is for up to 1 term. For 1 term and over conditions are similar to Public Sector Act conditions. Specific duties will vary with the role. These roles include Senior Human Resource Consultant and Recruitment Consultant. All positions are accountable to the relevant Assistant Director or Manager. Public Sector Act Levels ASO 1 – 5 Applicants for PS Act positions are required to have a current Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) child-related employment screening prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every three years before expiry and will be employed under Public Sector Act conditions. Term of Appointment: Maximum of six months. At the conclusion of their appointment, permanent employees of DECD will be placed according to the terms of their substantive appointment and the policies in operation at the time.
