Senior Production Geologist (North Mara) AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide leadership to ensure that all Geology and Diamond Drill personnel adhere to safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative provisions Effectively train and develop Tanzanian Geologists with a strong emphasis on safety, high technical standards and continuous improvement Develop a sound understanding of the geological controls of mineralization in the north Mara area and build on this understanding to further refine target generation and improve the accuracy of resource estimates Update the geological model & calculate the mineral resource for the mine bi-annually. Midyear will be for internal company reporting, with the results of the end of year resource calculation being reported to the market through company channels Ensure all data and documentation required to support and validate the North Mara resource (and it's method of calculation) is kept in a logical and systematic manner thereby making the process of auditing the resource (by internal and external parties) a thorough and efficient exercise. Meticulously prove and document any alterations to resource calculation parameters as and when they are made Create and update short term grade control models as required in order to provide the production team with the most current and reliable information to enable efficient and cost effective mining designs Reconcile all mining and milling production against resource/reserve models, explain variances and develop strategies to minimize these Complete project work & presentations to a professional standard as and when required Plan and manage Resource and Reserve definition drill programs from both surface and underground as required Assist the Superintendent Resource Development and Geology Manager in reviewing every aspect of departmental operations to identify and implement opportunities to add value to the operation & company Supervision of junior staff, drilling personnel, core logging, sample preparation and assay QA/QC to ensure clean, verified data capture Maintain an error free Geological Database o Maintain a high degree of cost control at all times PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Geology.
