RECRUITNG / EMPLOYING SRI LANKAN NATIONALS
1) Employers’ Registration with the Sri Lankan Embassy
Complete the attached forms and submit together with other attested and certified documents
referred to therein .
(Note :
a)
Subject to verification and credibility assessment the Embassy will register you as a bona fide
employer/employment agency. This registration is valid for one year only and renewable.
b) This Registration is a Prerequisite for consideration of Job Orders for certain categories including
factory workers and domestic helpers
2)
Recruiting and Employing
Submit the following documents to the Sri Lanka Embassy (All Documents in Original + copy) Original
will be returned after checking as applicable.
a)
Demand letter to Sri Lanka Agent(Attested by Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and
certified by Foreign Ministry, Sultanate of Oman. (Prepare as per attached standard form/letter.)
b) Agreement between you (Foreign Employer) and Sri Lanka Agent registered with the SLBFE
(Attested by Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and certified by Foreign Ministry,
Sultanate of Oman. (Prepare as per attached standard form/letter)
c) Power of Attorney to Sri Lanka Agent (Attested by Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and
certified by Foreign Ministry Sultanate of Oman . (Prepare as per attached standard form/letter)
d) Information sheet (Attested by Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and certified by Foreign
Ministry Sultanate of Oman - when registering the organization with the Embassy for the first
time)
e) Labour clearance letter from Ministry of Manpower.
f)
3)
Banker’s reference letter certifying satisfactory financial status of applicant(Company)
The above documents will be checked verified and attested as applicable by the Sri Lankan Embassy,
(Originals will be returned)
4)
Original documents certified by the Embassy shall be sent to your agent in Sri Lanka who will handle all
matters with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment on your behalf as per the agreement with
you.

This agreement made and entered into between (Name and Address of Chief Executive/Chairman
Managing Director of Company/Employer) Herein after called the Foreign Principal/Employer/Sponsor
and (Name and Address of Chief Executive/Chairman/Managing Director/of Sri Lanka Recruiting
Agency) Here in after called the Local Agent to recruit Manpower (Workers) from Sri Lanka shall
have the following Terms and Conditions referred to :
1) RECRUITMENT
a) The person or persons recruited shall be for the employment or employment’s as per
demand letter and shall be designated as stated in the letter of demand.
2) DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
a) The duration of the contract initially shall be for a period of two years and renewable by

AIR PASSAGE
a) Free both way (Onward and Return) air tickets shall be provided without considering race
or religion or worker category.
b) Return Air ticket should be provided free of charge by Foreign Principal/Employer for all
Employees after completion of contract.
4)
WORKING HOURS
a) Working hours shall be eight (8) per day and 48 hours per week.
b) Over time shall be paid for off duty hours and off duty days.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FOREIGN PRINCIPAL
a) The salary/allowances and all other rights shall be paid as stated in the letter of
demand. The letter of appointment as per the Labour Law of Sultanate of Oman the
monthly salary shall be paid on or before 10th of following month.
b) Free meals or meal allowance shall be provided.
c) Free accommodation or accommodation allowance shall be provided.
d) Free medical facilities shall be provided.
e) All complaints made by the employee or employees and their relations regarding the
employees or employees and their working condition shall be settled as soon as
possible.
6)
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LOCAL AGENT
a) The Local Agent shall select suitable candidates according to the Foreign Principals
requirements and submit the relevant documents to foreign principal.
b) The Local Agent shall undertake to ensure that all candidates will for the employments
and shall be guaranteed for a period of 90 days from the date of departure this 90
days period considered as probation period.
7)
TERMS OF PAYMENTS
a) The Foreign Principal shall pay the sum of US$ …… for each selected and recruited
employee as processing and administrative fees payable upon final selection of
employee.
b) The Sri Lanka Agent shall not charge any money nor shall take any other moneys
from the recruits. The recruit shall pay only the SLBFE approved medical and

recruitments on this job order.
8)
ANNUAL LEAVE
a) The employee or employees shall be entitled to paid leave and other benefits as per
the Oman labour laws on completion of 12 months period.

IN
THE CASE OF DEATH
a)
In the case of death of the employee or employees during the contract period, the
foreign principal shall agreed to repatriation of the remains of the deceased along with
the personal affects and saving on the expenses on the foreign principal.
10)
COMPENSATIONS
a) The foreign principal shall ensure that personal life and accident insurance for the
employee/employees to be provided for work connected illness injuries or death in
accordance with the pertinent laws of the hoist country.
11)
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
a) All other terms and conditions of employment shall be governed by the pertinent laws of
the Sultanate of Oman.
