A lien on your property......That is now a real
possibility, thanks to the actions of the Jefferson
County Commission.
Just last night I received the newest in a long line
of fees and taxes from Jefferson
County......the Ambulance Fee.
Is it not enough that the residents of Jefferson
County pay 125% of the national average in taxes and
fees BEFORE this new fee?
Apparently not......especially when the County
Commission votes themselves a 12% raise.
Yes that is right, while scheming to take more of
your hard earned money, the County Commissioners
gave themselves a raise,immediately after running
our County $3.9 MILLION in the RED in 2013.
Which is exactly why in August I introduced
a Resolution of Censure of the County government for
it's irresponsible 'tax and spend' ways at the
Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee
Meeting.
Which was promptly tabled by members of the
Committee....till September 13.
In looking over the Ambulance Fee Ordinance, it
states clearly that anyone who is delinquent on this
new fee will find themselves in court.

Do you want a new judgement against your private
property?
If not now is time to ACT!
While the Resolution of Censure will not stop the
current fee, it will send a loud and clear message
to the County Commission that we are taxed enough
already.
Especially when they give themselves raises.
It will also show our County elected officials that
we will hold them accountable for their poor voting
practices.
And while nothing is as permanent as a government
program, the truth is nothing done cannot be undone.
If we, as the residents of our County stand together
and demand the County Commission stop acting like
college kids on spring break with their parents
credit card, we can begin to restore our County.
But I cannot do this alone.
You see many members of the Jefferson County
Executive Committee would rather spend their time
planning parties and dinners while snuggling up to
elected officials.
As your elected representatives to the Republican
Party, it is their duty to uphold and
promote Republican Principles.
And unless you think that increasing or creating new
taxes and fees is a Republican principle, you need
to act now.
You need to contact the members of the Republican
Executive Committee and tell them they MUST support
the Resolution to Censure the
fiscal irresponsibly of our County Commission.
For if they do not, they are actually supporting new
and increased fees.

For if you do not contact them, do not be surprised
when your fees and taxes continue to grow.
Can you afford to sit by and continue to allow the
County to spend YOUR money on bike paths, vote
themselves raises and then pass the cost on to you
and your children?
I know I will not.
For those who have not read the Resolution of
Censure, here it isResolution for the Censure of the Jefferson County Commission
-Whereas the Republican Party of Jefferson County opposes any and
all fee and tax increases,
- Whereas Jefferson County Volunteer Fire and Ambulance
Companies delivered excellent service prior to this new fee,
- Whereas it has been shown that forced emergency fees on residents
reduces voluntary donations to local fire and ambulance companies so
that such organizations actually have fewer operating funds,
-Whereas the Jefferson County Residents already pay the highest
property taxes in the State,
-Whereas the Jefferson County Commission mismanaged the 2013
budget creating a $3.9 Million dollar deficit,
-Whereas the Jefferson County Commission voted itself a 12% pay
raise while raising and creating new fees on the residents of the
County,
- Whereas the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee
views the responsibility of government to protect individual life,
individual liberty and personal property, which includes residents
income,
-Whereas the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee
believes all the residents of Jefferson County deserve fiscally
responsible and accountable government,
Be it hereby resolved, we, the Jefferson County Republican
Executive Committee, censure the Jefferson County Commission
for their lack of foresight and fiscal responsibility and censure
the decision of the Jefferson County Commission to implement
new Ambulance fees and increase E911 fees on the residents of
Jefferson County.
