Selectboard Meeting June 25, 2014 OFFICE OF THE SELECTBOARD Town of Whitingham P.O. Box 560 Jacksonville, Vermont 05342 DRAFT FOR July 9th APPROVAL A Selectboard Meeting was held on Wednesday, June 25th , 2014 at 7:30 AM, at the Selectboard Office, Municipal Center in Jacksonville, Vermont. The following Selectboard members were present: Chair Keith Bronson; Selectboard Members: Vice Chair, Mr. Allan Twitchell; Mr. Greg Brown; Mr. Robin Kingsley and Administrator, Ms. Bonnie Jo Radasch. Guests: None. 7:30 The meeting was called to order by Mr. Keith Bronson, Selectboard Chair. 7:40 A motion was made by Mr. Allan Twitchell for Selectboard to approve the purchase of two Canon copiers off the State Supplies Contract; Mr. Keith Bronson seconded. All in favor. 7:42 A motion was made by Mr. Keith Bronson for Selectboard to approve the two Accounts Payable Warrants, dated June 26, 2014; Mr. Allan Twitchell seconded. All in favor. 7:43 A motion was made by Mr. Keith Bronson for Selectboard to approve the Payroll Warrant dated June 26, 2014; Mr. Robin Kingsley seconded. All in favor. 7:45 A motion by Mr. Keith Bronson for Selectboard to approve checks written on behalf of Whitingham Economic Development Group in payment of WEDG approved expenses; Mr. Allan Twitchell seconded. All in favor. 7:47 A motion was made by Mr. Keith Bronson for Selectboard to sign an agreement with Sullivan Powers auditing firm to perform the town’s annual audit of financial records for FY 2013-2014; Mr. Allan Twitchell seconded. All in favor. 7:48 A motion was made by Mr. Keith Bronson for Selectboard to approve the Minutes of their prior meeting of June 11, 2014; Mr. Robin Kingsley seconded. All in favor. Selectboard considered Junk complaint; noted complaint needs a signature and additional detail to be acted upon. Complaint appeared centered around the Houghton Road / Maple Hill Lane area. Selectboard considered list of repairs related to Town Hill park. The list was provided by Mr. Wade Masure of VLCT’s insurance group. Materials will be mailed to Town Hill Committee Members for joint consideration at the Selectboard Meeting of July 23, 2014. (Committee includes Mr. Steve Betit, Mr. Allan Hadley, Mr. Ray Boyd, Mr. Keith Bronson, and Ms. Aysha Peltz. Selectboard noted all Farmers’ Market feedback relative to opening night, June 20, 2014, had been positive. 8:05 Selectboard considered data in regard to potential central type airconditioning at the Municipal Center and various approaches that might be given consideration. Note was given to a potential fuel savings of upwards of $3,000 annually through use of a heat pump style system. Mr. Kingsley suggested Selectboard take a walkaround at their next meeting to consider where heat pumps might be conveniently located. Bid packages will be put together as soon as relevant information is available. Bid turn-around will be set at two weeks, following advertisement. Selectboard acknowledge change in posted office hours. Administrator noted observation that the “Little Library” proposed for installation had received some suggestions that Whitingham Village might provide a good location, perhaps near the Historical Society. Selectboard will leave that discussion to Ms. Walkowiak and the Road Commissioner. 9:03 A motion was made by Mr. Robin Kingsley for Selectboard to adjourn their meeting; Mr. Allan Twitchell seconded. 9:03 Chair, Keith Bronson, declared the meeting adjourned.
